Community Health Centres: Healthy People, Healthy Communities

Community Health Centres (CHCs) play an important role in Canada’s healthcare and social service systems. CHCs provide a wide range of day-to-day health and social services within a single organization, all to meet the needs of individuals, families and groups within their local community. However, the availability of CHCs still varies greatly by province and town. It’s a major challenge for Canadians; one that federal, provincial and municipal governments across Canada must address together.
Canada’s universal, public healthcare system and other public systems give Canadians deep collective pride. They show what defines Canada as a country: that people matter, that community matters, that we have a responsibility to each other, and that we’re stronger together. But it’s time to take something great and make it even better. It’s time for Community Health Centres.
