My dilemma debating between philippines and Dubai. I lived in Philippines i liked it overal. The condos are super small and overpriced. Cost of living is reasonable its not business friendly i couldn't even open a checking account. You really need to make money online, which is difficult. Dubai seems very business friendly and easy to setup.

The problem with the trap is most come to Asia after selling everything in their home countries and just living off their savings hoping to make money, then they realize they can’t and end up on the street over time from depression. I’ve lived in Cambodia for a year, there are no real opportunities for westerners, especially if you’re in the arts. Thailand has those opportunities but then the visa and permit rules are a joke. At the end of the day, Asia is for Asians. It’s better to make $3000 in your home country and have $3000 in expenses than to have $1000 in expenses in Cambodia and make 0!

A strategy can be to migrate to a developed country, work hard, save/invest as much as you can, then move back to your birth country once you have saved enough money to live well there.
