13 Sentinels is primarily set during a fictionalised version of the 1980s in the Shōwa period, but also jumps between Japan during the later years of World War II and the distant future. The story follows its thirteen protagonists, all of high school age, as they are dragged from their normal lives into a fantastical war against invading alien forces, fighting their Kaijuu army using the Sentinel mechas. The storyline is split between multiple characters, and by following each character the player aims to avert a disastrous future for mankind.

I dont know why but I love when I hear "Aishteru" actually being said. This game had me hooked with the mysterious story. It was confusing as fuck at first but kept me wanting more.

Thanks for this, it was quite a journey! One of the best storylines I've seen over the years. Felt your gameplay was a little rushed in a few parts, especially considering the story was the best part.
Will definitely pick this game up eventually, but it's currently way too expensive on PSN, and no physical copy available to me right now, which is a shame

the magic of this game is, although it's a happy ending for everyone, the ending scene is always makes the player cry

One of my favorite things about this game was the explanation for why the aliens attacking the earth seemed to always be a huge threat, despite the advancements in sentinels that should have made them trivial: (Spoiler if you didn't finish the game)
AI was made to believe that earth being overrun is common sense, and if that isn't happening, something is wrong. Thus, if humans were successfull in defense, the invaders would evolve to restore status quo: Earth being overrun.

So what's all of you guys' opinion on the ei x iori ship in this game? I want to hear.
Ei was a good character but he was completely snubbed in the finale, the only one not to appear.
I really liked Iori but felt her romance was forced.
Juro has an excuse as Izumi was involved with Morimura and Young!Izumi was involved with Megumi (BEST girl), so those feelings lingering makes sense.
Ei is Morimura's killer. If at all; she should resent him. It would have been cool seeing thar arc, she hating him without knowing why and ending up loving him after all is said and done.
It was undercooked in my humble opinion, and sad for me as I really liked both characters.
Personally it kinda hurt, especially after learning about how morimura was tricked into killing him (Izumi). But it also sort of seemed like it was forced by Izumi and morimura that their younger selves didn't end up together by forcing memories into the two of them. 1. Making Juro seem sort of crazy/unstable always talking to himself and essentially turning him into a "Kaiju Nerd" and 2. Morimura planted memories of a gruff sort of assassin character of Izumi into her younger selves dreams and Ei just sorta fit that criteria more in the current situation, at least more than Juro Kurabe
Pretty much chihiro was still there and didnt want a clone if juro recovered his memories,that's why she left the clone do whatever she wants and stopped giving her memories,adult chihiro still want or(wnted since she got killed) juro.
Agree with Gabriel. Her romance with Ei was too much of her narrative, even though they just barely knew each other, which ended up feeling forced.
Also wish Ei had shown up in the end, weird that he's the only one of the 15 to not show up.
Underdeveloped and rushed. Iori had SO much going for her similar to Juro considering how problematic and major her previous loop selves, but a lot of her story just orbited around her relationship with Ei and eating random snacks with Tomi and Miwako (which was precious but ehhh). I feel like her story and character were wasted because she had to fill the posterchild generic female protagonist for marketing or something. If she had more agency and relevancy (more scenes with Renya and Juro) then she could've been better.

What was the point of Ogata's dad in Gouto's plot?
Kengo Ogata is the one who wanted to live forever. He died in 2187 making a deal with Prof. Morimura that she would bring him back. He also caused the dd425 leak that killed off nearly all of humanity to blackmail her with. He's partially the reason this all took place.
