Mainstream music today sounds the same. I mean, I'm glad I grew up with retro tunes from 1970 to 2003 back then. Yes, rap included. After 2003 ended and when 2004 started, mainstream became godawful and continues today. SMH.
I think this song is the pinnacle of the 80~90's AOR scene: unforgettable melody, David Pack's superb vocal, Tom Scott's distinctive sax line, lush female choruses, etc. It deserves more praise.
