WHEEEEEE through the Massey tunnel.
I love Juan's camera on his hard hat.
Wow we need to get that boy a shave and a hair cut. It summer, got to look good .drive safe
Drove by you while you were unloading. That’s the second spotting of Juan in the wild. Enjoy the content. Appreciated
I remember a few people driving by and I being almost 100% sure they recognized us.. One of them must have been you :)
Need to give us a little toot first, not a real honk, just a tap and we will know it's you
Good afternoon Juan and Jess. Well went to see the doctor, and yep he said your sick, soooo got some meds, and now I will be free to roam around without adult supervision.😁
George Massey Tunnel is an awesome feature in Metro Vancouver
Watching that stretch of Knight Street between East 41st and East 57th (17:24 to 21:03) brings back lots of memories of my grandma and aunts, who lived on East 53rd between Knight and Fraser. Back in the 60s and 70s, that whole area was a community of suburbanized Mennonites, and you heard both Low and High German spoken on the streets and in the shops on Fraser Street. Later on, Vietnamese was the main language in that area, and then Punjabi.
The tunnel is a beauty.
The homes looked nice along that h'way
I was daring you to honk 😂
Good video thankyou 😊
Hi Jess
Thanks for doing that route, it's been at least 10 years or more since i went thru the Massey Tunnel. As always great views and thanks again. Smiles
Have you seen the plans for the new one to be started soon ? Big improvement for easing traffic congestion.
@@blueman5924 No i haven't, glad to hear that they will be easing the traffic congestion. I haven't driven down there in 15-20 years as my sight has gotten worse.
See you tomorrow, Juan 👋
I don't mind red lights. it's saves thinking about when to turn or go.
They still do 3 lanes going in during the morning rush hour and 3 lanes coming out during afternoon rush hour.
I must correct you ... the tunnel switches direction for one side of the tunnel every morning and afternoon, it has for years. Until the new tunnel or bridge is built it will continue. You haven't lived until you have been trapped behind an accident with no way to turn around deep in the lowest point ... Lucky you if you are clostiphobic. ))
Thanks, I appreciate the correction. Hopefully the new tunnel is a bit more spacious
@28:19 The scale is permanently closed.
@40:48 Thats odd you say no overnight parking in Delta but you can stay overnight at the scale by the Alex Fraser Bridge and thats Delta.
They don't want you to stay at the scale, they don't ticket you, but go door knocking at 7am.
@@JuanRempel Ah I was wondering about that part about knocking at 7am
Ok. I emailed the question to the K. mass timber office. Will let you know if I get a straight answer.😉🤙
I know they "upcycle" the wrap at their Mills, they leave it by the street for gardeners/etc to pick up for free. I am not sure if they can enforce what the other places do with it though. I know the workers usually get excited about taking the dunnage home but even that adds up.. Maybe they resell the dunnage part, but not sure honestly what happens with the wrap most of the time.
@@naujsgirl The dunnage, in the city, is valued as good firewood no doubt, considering how much those bundles are at campgrounds, Can Tire, etc.
This dunnage is made of defective glulam, wouldn't want to use that, to much glue and chemicals in it.
G'day Juan
@30:58 The scale was never there it was by the tunnel.
Adios Jess
My town got hit by a bad storm
one of the tornado's? thinking of you and praying for all involved with these storms.
@@mimi5117 they said a tornado did hit my town, but it’s not bad like EF one damage winds up to 80 mph
Is the allure of a flatbed load entirely because no crabby forklift operator is needed any longer? 🤔😏
I sure hope those panel shipping tarps get recycled. The whole idea of mass timber is eco friendly building. Be a shame if all that wrap is trashed.
Traffic lights are not working
Hah, the 7-11 you passed at 16:00, is the one I worked on as a 3rd yr apprentice in 1983. Ah, the memories…and the free test slurpees ! 😂
