That ironstone “teapot” was shaped that way because it’s a coffee pot! All those lovely tall ones were made for coffee. 😊
I’ve collected the Ports of England since 1976. It came out in the grocery stores that you could get a new piece or usually a set of 4 every week and then there would sometimes be special pieces!! I loved it and when they quit the promotion they ran a sale on all the items left and so of course I bought lots of extra pieces and sets and then continue to collect them. My son said when he was about 10 and I was rearranging them in my hutch when I grow up this is the set of dishes I want so he is now 51 and 6 years ago I gave them to he and his wife because she’d had a cabinet perfect for them plus I knew as much as they entertain she would use them!! I love the holidays or big get togethers when we go there and see the ports of England and my Blue Willow that i passed on to themselves as well being used. It makes my heart so happy!!!!

I actually think I will, I originally got it to keep but once I got home I was like I really don’t need this and don’t know where to put it so I listed it but I think you all have convinced me that I should definitely add it to our home! 🩵 I paid $40 for it because I loved it that much so it will definitely be hard to part with! 🥹

I SO wish that i would have known that you were going to be in town. I would have loved to meet you! You did great! You found so many treasures! I think i have only been to Magpie once and i have not been to Westerville Antiques in a few years. I am so happy for you that you found so many cool pieces! I agree! The drawer just kept falling out so my husband offered that he could fix it if I wanted him to so that it would stay more secure like the other side 😊 but we will probably just end up leaving it I absolutely love the character either way 🩵

*Maranda, the white Independence Ironstone covered dish with ladle is for serving mayonnaise or mustard. 😉 These harkened back to the times before we could buy prepared mayonnaise or mustard in a jar at the grocery store. Each homemaker would freshly make these condiments in their own kitchens from dry and wet ingredients like ground spices, eggs, oil, vinegar, etc. before serving them with their meals. 😋 Ketchup was also freshly prepared back then, too. ❤️*
It would also be great for cranberry sauce at Christmas or Thanksgiving

I live about an hour from Westerville and only 35 minutes from Lebanon. The Goodwill in Lebanon is awesome and I always find such good treasures there. I’ve never been to Westerville before, but after watching this video, I will soon! ❤ Thanks for sharing!

I’m keeping it! I originally got it to keep but then had second thoughts when I got home because I just had no idea where I would put it and I already have so many watering cans but decided to definitely keep it because of how much I loved it the second I laid eyes on it 😉🥰
Rub some bees wax or bar soap on the drawers to help make them open and close easier. Very nice haul!

I believe they are coffee pots, not tea pots. Traditional tea pots are shorter, rounder. Wedding gifts in the 40's and 50's often included a silver coffee service which included a tray, pot, creamer and sugar. Your 2 are lovely and of course you can serve whatever you want in them. Loved all the blue and white you saw and bought.

We are very blessed to have so many places to thrift and antique here in Ohio. My sister lives just a few miles from Lebanon in Monroe and they have wonderful antique stores and malls in the area. I collect anything Germany - mainly Bavaria China tea cups and plates. But anything that says West Germany - is pre World II - the same with anything marked Occupied Japan. I love that watering can - so very pretty!

I moved from home in PA in 2000 to Ohio. I had a Westerville address but lived on the other side or Hoover in Delaware County. So much to see and do after coming from a small country area. It will always have a special place in my heart. I moved back home in 2011 a few years after my divorce. The cost of living is so much cheaper here in the Pa. You should have went up the road to the city of Delaware. There use to be many antique shops up there. That whole area of Ohio is such a pretty area with so much shopping. Beautiful homes too. LOL if you like the price. Love the watering can.
Yes we went to Delaware too!! I forgot to film those places because we were so busy that day but we loved it! We live in a tiny town with the population a little over 1000 people so it was a huge experience living in a big city for a week but such a cool experience to see how much there is to do! 🤣 It really is so pretty, they put so much work into the landscaping! And endless amounts of nice, well kept stores, shopping centers, and such beautiful homes! But yes we noticed cost of living is definitely way, way more expensive up there so I don’t blame you for moving back! Fun to visit though!

Honestly, you, Andrea from Pine and Prospect, and Kristin Hoffman make me want to thrift in other states. I live in California and its expensive over here and it can be hard to find what i really want.
I completely understand 😕 Some of the places we go are also super outrageous sometimes it just depends on the area but we try to stick to the small town thrift stores that’s where I’ve found you get the best deals plus yard sales/ estate sales. Maybe you could take a small trip to go to some country/ small town thrift stores one day and find lots of good treasures that you have been looking for 🩵🩵 Thank you for watching!

West Germany hasn’t around since 1988 or 1989. It was established after World War II. So that watering can is less than 100 years old. I hope you kept it though, because it’s a piece of history for sure.

Great finds!! Thank you for sharing!! My only complaint is that you don't show a lot of the shopping trip. Just a little "Shop with me" and then the haul is super long. It would be nice to see the places that you go to and shop at. That's just my humble opinion. ☺
I completely understand and will definitely try to work on that for sure! 🩵 Please keep in mind while I am shopping it is a balance of taking my camera in, asking for permission to film in their store, looking and hunting for the pieces and trying to decide what would be a good decision on if I want to invest money into the item and bring it home and it’s lots and lots to look through because I don’t want to miss anything in the stores and make sure I see it all. Then chatting with the store owners/ employees to try to be present with them and kind to them for allowing me to film in their store, talking with my husband about the items and just trying to be in the moment and take it all in when we are shopping together allllll at the same time 🤪 so it can get super overwhelming when filming in public there’s a lot that goes into it! I absolutely try my best to get really good clips of the beautiful stores and the pieces that we see! Also when I look at my analytics it shows me that over 60% of viewers skip past the shop with me portion of the video and head straight to the haul so I put that into consideration as well and try not to make the shopping too lengthy but I can start trying to do way longer ones for those who would enjoy those more in the future!
