This isn't an easy song to play as a cover. I had to practice for like a week to get all these tempo changes right and play it cleanly when I was gigging. James just plays it so clean and tight. His internal clock and finger work are just insane...and he plays mostly downstrokes to get maximum ass-kickery. That is ridiculously difficult at this tempo. One of the best rhythm guitarists ever.
I was in the Philippines when they were on this tour and dropped by. Got the chills for being able to see them live!! The sheer energy!! Had chills throughout my body for 4 hours!!
no quiero molestar pero esta cancion fue escrita por Dave Mustaine y metallica la utilizo aunque Mustaine les sijo que utilizaran nada de lo que el creo
Amazing performance, it’s crazy that James didn’t sing the high notes but nowadays he does! Still the performance is so amazing!!!! I love Metallica 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
These guys are so fuckin metal 🤘 I lost my dvds of this shit so I have to come on here to revisit it. Gets me every time; they called it the four horsemen gallop😎
Only 172 comments ? Really surprising for this epic performance . Especially James screaming “yeahhhhhhhh” at 3:30 is so fucking badass. He is god anyway ... atleast mine😊😊
Time Has taken its toll on you The lines that crack your face Famine Your body it has torn through Withered in every place Pestilence For what you have had to endure And what you have put others through Death Deliverance for you for sure There is nothing you can do
Was at this concert as a Sophmore in high school. It started with Ice T’s Body Count, and him reading a letter from the local Chief of Police, asking him not to play the song Cop Killer. He read it to the crowd, then wiped his butt with it before playing the song. Funny that he ends up playing a cop on TV for many years. Then Metallica plays a great set. And then everyone wait for Axl to get his mental/emotional/ego issues in check before G n R comes on to close out the night. (Nowhere near as long a wait as when I had seen G n R play in the Sports Arena with Soundgarden opening, maybe the year before? ) Later in this tour, things break down royally between the bands, and the tour ends early, I think with that riot in Canada and James getting burned by the pyros. Good times.
It is the song of the Angel on top drinking broken glass alcoholic beverages and breaking glass alcoholic bottles from above and the Angel becoming the Archangel because of the Apocalypse in the X-Men Apocalypse film.
Everyone came for the drum switch
Lmao I did
Yep
EXACTLY WHY I CLICKED!!!
Epic.
Absolutely
I sure as shit did.
Once Lars switches drums they all headbang at the same it's so cool
Its so fucking badass
that and kirk walking away like a badass
Definitely one of the most metal moments ever.
2:12 That drums switch EPIC!!!
Omar Fernandez perfect timing.....never even sat down, and hit the first beat......best part the whole "binge and purge" videos
This is the reason my Metallica are the fucking best band on this planet. What a fucking energetic thing this must have been to experience.
Just amazing
Ask him to do it now lmao he'd be out of breath
my dad saw them live in 96 i think when lars switchdd drum set
2:11 RUUUUN BITCH RUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
Lars is fucking awesome! EPIC
2:21 the four horsemen!
Caretheis67 I really love this shit haha
The Crowd at 2:21 damn
Back in 1993, the sequence at 2:12 is what got me into Heavy Metal for ever
That's thrash 🤟
2:20. Metallica... assemble
The fucking four horsemen headbanging
Jason Newsted made Four Horsemen one of the best songs live, his backing vocals are so badass
U see Jason singing whole Four Horsemen? Go check that version. They did it in Baton Rouge and Jackson 15 and 16 July 1992
@@karolantkowiak5400 I saw it for the first time just last night lmao, it was so fkn killer
2:43 That look is fucking priceless
+TheLeperMessiah93 Fucking evil more like it :P
3:14 the peak of kirks backing vocal career
hahaha
Nah that sounds like Jason to me.
Kirk's mic barely picked up anything all show. That was Jason you were hearing
Sondre Klavenes You guys don’t get the joke😂
Is Jason dude.
Lars is the fucking man. best part to one of the best songs in my opinion
Damn James at his prime was a metal god.The best rhythm guitarist, composer and front man.
Still is
@@sloppiejoe87 he isn't the same, the age getting us all ,but still is my favourite and my biggest influence.
Look at how big Lars drum kit was back then.
Warren Joe when he could play Dyers Eve no problem
Gregory Davis i doubt he ever had a period when Dyers Eve wasnt a problem for him
Warren Joe the trusty tama granstar doing the job.
needlequill you're serious?
@@chrisrodsa210 well, Lars is lazy, but he is able to kick DB fast, and he has not lost skills, maybe forgot fills
The drum switch and timed headbanging gave me chills no live moment is ever going to give me
The best fucking part!!!! /,,/
2:10
Jason the beast as always
Personally I think Metallica died after Jason left. The current bassist aint even close to Jasons talent!
@@matthewherron6048 hahhahahahahah
I just miss the power of Jason, he was awesome at Metallica
@@matthewherron6048 Trujillo is an awesome bassist, but, yes, Jason fits better on Metallica
1992 CHADtallica would bitchslap 2021 SIMPtallica for playing with Miley Cyrus. This is where these 4 guys reigned supreme.
You gotta admit, the idea to switch drums during the break was absolutely ahead of its time. Perfectly timed to the original too!
1:00 the harmony there makes this song 14x more badass than it already is.
Do you mean the vocal harmony between James and Jason, or the guitar harmony (contrary motion) in the next part of the chorus?
@@pat8437 The guitars later on for sure.
i was there! :)
You're lucky dude
devin gilliam fucking luckiest guy
Luckiest guy ever!
Same!
My dad was too
I think Metallica was one of the 20th Century's phenomena..
2:20 is fucking awesome!!!
+Peter Mikkelsen how lars bolts across the stage just in time too!
isaac white Yeah:)
This is my Metallica 80's & 90's !!!!!!

Don’t miss that downbeat Lars !!
2:12 RUN LARS RUN!!!
Back when Lars used to beat the drums so hard like it owed him money
The drum switch and headbanging...best live moment in Metal history ...
OLD SCHOOL HEAVY METAL!!
1991-1992!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was in the Philippines when they were on this tour and dropped by. Got the chills for being able to see them live!! The sheer energy!! Had chills throughout my body for 4 hours!!
That drum switching. And headbanging fooking chillls oooo yeah yeah
Unstoppable on this tour! That breakdown where Lars runs to the other kit at 2:10 is just part of all the cool shit they did to make it a great time!
this performance is the best one for the four horsemen for me. rock yeahhhh
2:11 Lars runnin from the four horsemen.
Martien Abrahamse But...he is one of the four horsemen lol
he is running for join the four horsemen
Lastima que no había nacido para esta época donde le ponían todo al concierto... Metallica es lo mejor!
Los primeros años de los 90 FUE la mejor época dorada de Metallica \m/ \m/.
Could never ever get tired of watching the drum switch part
The 89 version is so awesome too man

Se sabe, the mecanix fkfnsnfndnf
+Matias Balboa Arriagada je je da chiste escuchar las dos y decir jajaj es lo mismo
pero si canciones de metallica y megadeth fueran varias iguales seria raro
+Gonzalo Coronado el mismo riff xsnxndf
This is for sure one of the greatest live performances of all time just for the drum switch. That shit was flawless and awesome
Amazing performance, it’s crazy that James didn’t sing the high notes but nowadays he does! Still the performance is so amazing!!!! I love Metallica 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
The drum switch is the definition of Metal.
Una de las mejores presentaciones en vivo....

Only 172 comments ? Really surprising for this epic performance . Especially James screaming “yeahhhhhhhh” at 3:30 is so fucking badass. He is god anyway ... atleast mine😊😊
Yeah only he can pull off the “yeahhhhhhhhhh” .. bad ass as always .
Everyone's talking about Lar's drum switch, but nobody's talking about Jason's galloping...
Time
Has taken its toll on you
The lines that crack your face
Famine
Your body it has torn through
Withered in every place
Pestilence
For what you have had to endure
And what you have put others through
Death
Deliverance for you for sure
There is nothing you can do
WHAT THE LARS.......He is making up his own history doing this stuff. Great lars.....carry on till now if you dare......
THE FUCKING FOUR HORSEMEN!!!!

James Hetfield is the undisputed reason for an explosion in wrist band sales around the world.

It is the song of the Angel on top drinking broken glass alcoholic beverages and breaking glass alcoholic bottles from above and the Angel becoming the Archangel because of the Apocalypse in the X-Men Apocalypse film.
METALICAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!
Feel to metallica yeah
Or I could press the 'replay' button.
Deal with the four horsemen 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I like the San Diego 92 performances better than the Seattle 89 ones tbh

It's right at 2:10
2:20 The Four Horsemen
You're lucky, world! It's just 4 of them.
remember kids, with the powers of hardcore drugs that washed down with 5 cups o' beer you can do that stun as well
