    Gorgeous!!!I I am a beginner and I think this will be my way to grout also and it is not as messy as using water. Thank you for another well taught tutorial.

      I teach this method after watching students apply too much water when cleaning. it is my preferred method and my students also now prefer it. So glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers and happy nipping.

    Thanks Cheryl. Never thought of using my rubber trowel for this together with a sock.
    Watching sessions from you & Peter are very worthwhile. So much helpful info from years of experience.

    Thank you Cheryl! Learned so much about a different way to do the dry method, using 'tools' like socks & toothbrushes! I'm very new at this and found using paper towels (instead of the sock) so incredibly messy, and I think using a toothbrush makes so much more sense in cleaning up those areas of the glass or tiles rather than using dental picks. Overall I just like your method so much more, including keeping a shop vac close by to clean as you go! Thanks again. PS, I forgot to ask after watching the mandala video - do you have a written pdf or pattern of the mandala? I would love to replicate it. Thank you!

    This was great, thank you! What is your substrate - it seemed thin for a tile. I so appreciate that you showed every step including mixing!

      Thank you for your response
      The substrate is a piece of “cement sheeting “ or in USA hardiboard/hardibacker

    You really are very good. I am just about to begin a coloured glass on glass mosaic to act as a circular window inside the house, not external. Hopefully it will give some added light into a dark stairwell in my house in Spain. I intend to use chocolate brown grout to make the mosaic leaded’esk!! Or faux leaded if my made up word grates. Lol 😢Would the white mixer work on glass? I really like the idea of waterless grout with enhanced properties. Thank you again for your information and techniques. Regards AlisonX

      All the best.
      Do a little “tester” before you tackle the grout on the main piece.
      A test is always better to reinsure that you have made the right choice for YOU!!!
      There is never a right option,,, just an option that works best for you!!!
      Good luck

    is there anywhere you show how you glued the mosiac? I saw the layout video but wanted to know how you went about gluing - did you lift out every piece and glue on? thanks

    • @HannMadeStudio
      @HannMadeStudio  Před 3 měsíci

      I get beginnners to lay the tiles first so they have even spacing. The tiles are then lifted up individually and glued. When i work i lay down the glue and place the tile onto the glue. You need to select a method that works for you and your experience and practice. there is no right or wrong way,,,,just what you are happy with.

    Do you know if we can purchase the Davco Products in the US?

    • @HannMadeStudio
      @HannMadeStudio  Před 2 lety

      Hi Kathy.
      I don’t believe you can purchase Davco in America but lacticrete is a great product that has polymer additives which can be added to grout.
      Check out the brands for polymer additive to enhance grout

      Hi
      This video was taken from a live tutorial I did on Facebook.
      This angle allowed me to talk to students as I was demonstrating.
      Also, as this was a live tutorial I didn’t want to move the camera too often.
      My apologies
