Rail Around New South Wales | October 2015 Special Edition | 160th Anniversary of NSW Railways

September 26th marks the 160th anniversary of the NSW Railway. The first rail link in the state was between Sydney - Parramatta with Locomotive No.3 hauling the first train in the state. To mark the occasion, Transport Heritage NSW had conducted shuttle trips with 3642 and 5917 towards Parramatta.

I wish I had been there to see this. I just went to see a collection of 19th and 20th century model trains at the powerhouse and I saw no. 1 there. Can't remember how many times I saw it and only a few years ago I realised what it signified.
