This album has its rightful place in the list of Gospel Greats for inspirational music. It also features the 20th Anniversary of "Oh Happy Day" written by Edwin Hawkins.
2024 and it still gives me goosebumps
As a child, I grew up hearing this song almost every Sunday on my way to church with my sibblings and our grandfather. And even when I became a back slider, this song was still buried in my heart and deep down inside, I knew that Jesus was the only way to God. I rededicated my life to Christ 7 years ago and I'm so happy, I'm singing, "Glory! Hallelujah!"

I am all for and support new artist and authentic praise and worship ministry. As a choir couductor and worship leader I am aware that we must stay current as to what God is doing for such a time as this. I would like to state for the record that many of the anointed messages written are timeless and are a blessing for today! Let us not be so concerned with "top 40" but rather what is needed in this hour. Because it's the annointing that breaks the yoke! Seek the annointing more than popularity.

This song was so powerful during the rehearsals learning it we had to cut it off at everyday. The recording session was great but at the sound check we finished it and a were ready to go on to the next song but the band was in tears! We took another 5 minuets to say, "I may not know what He's done for you. But I can truly say Jesus brought me through. I'm so happy I'm singing glory halleluiah!" This is from the pen of the great Gabriel Hardeman. Thank God for his submission and obedience. Rest In Power Man of God! I'm going in right now!

I was at this seminar in Pasadena. Every single song was hot! I remember Kevin Bond on keys , Joel Smith drums, Jonathan DuBose guitar, Jimmy Neuble bass, organ? Of course Lashun Pace on lead vocal. This song ripped the roof off!!! They sang this song for a long time that night. People were delivered. Goose bumps down the spine. Packed auditorium

We've got to keep the rich heritage of Gospel music alive. Even with the new, we still can keep it real, plain and simple. Our lyrics are getting more and more lost in the beat and groove and riffs. That's one thing the Hawkins were known for not doing.

+euphrates556 Taking nothing away from Edwin Hawkins, but these words and music are by the late, legendary Gabriel Hardeman not Edwin Hawkins. However this song was recorded at the Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir session held in Los Angeles, CA (recorded @Pasadena City College Auditorium) in 1989. Gabriel Hardeman was an awesome writer and psalmist in his own right, was a contributing writer on this project. His work is celebrated and yet a blessing to the body of Christ as well as his secular musical contributions featured by secular artists. LaShaun Pace placed her anointed voice and style on this testimonial selection. This is one of my fondest memories and highlights of participating in those great days of Gospel Music choir days. I am in tears 28 years later as I write... I may not know what he's done for you? But I can truly say Jesus brought me through. And I'm so happy, I'm singing glory Hallelujah! PRICELESS! Thank God for giving us Gabriel Hardeman.
Of course. The Grabriel Hardeman Delegation was vital to the gospel music scene, but they never experienced the commercial success of the Hawkins Family.
My point in making the correction as to whom wrote this selection is to provide necessary clarification. All too often songwriters are not given the respect, accolades and honor to whom honor is due. In this industry that all too often transfers into commercial success or lack thereof because of misinformation. It is my hope that as we become better informed as consumers we will be able to assist songwriters, artists and ministries promote what God has given them for His glory to bless others who hear it as well as God purpose and provision benefiting His psalmist. Brings back nostalgia. My uncle was the first pentecostal in our family and when he lived with my mom and sisters he exposed me to a lot of Gospel music I never really heard of. When I first got saved, I remember coming home from church and having church again listening to these songs.

I have listened to this recording literally for years into decades now and I never connected the dots that this was Shun Pace! I have no idea why I didn't because it's so obviously her. Not to mention she refers to herself. I had the pleasure of meeting her a couple times and she is one of the most humble, kind, and sweet ministers I've ever known. And, she can sing her stinkin' FACE OFF!!!!!!!

Hi Sandra. I saw Edwin a few years back and the first thing I asked was how could I get this CD. He told me that he could not even get this CD any longer. I told him it was one of his greatest pieces of work.

Just for the record the reference this track holds in my personal list of Gospel Songs is for the constant reminder that the Gospel is out there for all to share. In doing so my testimony has more conviction to others and reminds me of Gods grace shown in many situations by the way I treat others.
I cherish these songs as a daily reminder of Gods love and continued blessings to me as I go about my daily endeavors. Songs that move you as a child will never forget them in your adult life.
