Me too. We had an 86 Sable Wagon, 92 Taurus GL Sedan and 93 Taurus GL Wagon years ago. I remember really being sad when they came out with the 1996 model. Initially, I really hated it, but somehow we ended up with a 1997 GL Sedan and it really grew on me. Bought it with 39k in 2001. Had it for a long time, and drove it to 175k. Finally got rid of it in 2012. Miss the 1986-95's the most though. Really liked those body styles. I would like to find a Sable wagon like the one we had and restore it. it was an '86 LS in champagne color with tan leather interior and all the bells and whistles, with the exception of the digital odometer. My dad had a friend though, who had a 1987 Taurus LX Sedan. Nice Metallic Brown with gray LX Velour interior. He had the Digital odometer. I thought that was so cool as a kid.
@@randomfunstuff7123 That's cool. The closest thing to the 86 Taurus LX wagon I want that I'd be able to get my hands on right now would be my aunt's sky blue 1992 Mercury Sable LS wagon. It's fully loaded, has the 3.0 Vulcan, has over 200,000 miles on it and still has it's factory transmission on it. It's parked at my grandma's farm property because my grandma got a newer car and gave her old Buick to my aunt and uncle. The car just needs front end alignment work.
I prefer the 86-95s. In fact I really want to find an 86 LX wagon and restore it.

Gentlemen, it is possible to close the external air intake of the ford taurus 97.
I like the 1996 Ford Taurus when they launched it's a whole lot different oval shape that was the main thing of the mid-to-late 90s
Never could stand egg shaped cars. May be marketing was appealing a new generation of buyers-
