Good episode to. From FEU ako kaya medyo abangers sa FEU content lagi. I agree kay JR, one more thing is perfect prototype sya pero para kasi magPBA ka gaya nga ng sinabi mo Boss Mikee dapat may isang skill ka na sobrang high level, si JR yung parang lahat above average pero walang outstanding skill.
Everything happens for a reason.. Well para sakin Mikee Reyes is one of the best sports commentator and the smartest one. Yung may sense pag naghohost or nagcocomment, tapos minsan matatawa ka. Tipong aabangan mo talaga kung ano sasabihin. Anyways, at least nahanap mo yung niche mo. I really enjoyed your channel.
I like it was mentioned how ADMU is a school that plays on a "system" which what basketball in its purest form is. Thing about jumping into the pro's its about skill and minutes chances are your rookie year should be your coming out party otherwise coaching staff will be looking for next year's draft. ADMU gives you a full 4 years to develop and grow into your role. It was even mentioned that thirdy (the superstar that he is) was not even the primary source of offense.
most of the players mentioned played from known schools sa Luzon/Manila. But for me isa sana sa pwede maging superstar point guard sa PBA if hindi siya na injured during exhibition game against Alaska ay si Woodraw Enriquez. Rest in Peace Woodraw, he was the MVP of Liga Pilipinas as he played with Cebu Niños. PBA teams had a hard time guarding him during exhibition games, if im not mistaken TNT or Alaska was interested to sign him up but yung lang nagka spinal injury.
Pat played for a bit on Air 21, didn't fit the system. JR aside from what was mentioned aboved didnt declare for the draft earlier his fifth year in FEU was plagued in injuries. 4th year JR on a weaker draft class would have improved his draft stock and probably a better fitting team
Great topic. I've watched most players of these players and for them not translate in the PBA is sad. Basketball culture in country can be restrictive.
IMHO, in many cases players just don't end up with a coach whose system is a perfect fit for their skills. Lack of playing time is also a major career and confidence killer (although there are those rare gems who have overcome that). Those are usually the issue with many players who "underachieve". Even in the NBA, right? Or any other lower level leagues. Some players "get lucky" and become stars playing for a coach whose system is a perfect fit for their skills, AND give them enough playing time. As I said, it happens in any level of basketball.
for me, JJJ din... he was injured lang last season but everyone's waiting for him especially may ja morant na siya to maximize his talent... pero medyo mabigat na comparison si MPJ.... But i'll go JJJ din
I think Ronald Pascual just started his career sa wrong situation. He was drafted by SMB which already have a great wing players at the time with Marcio and Ronald Tubid and i think Lutz was still there. I think if he fell sa alaska with the aging wing with dondon and cyrus mas maganda magiging takbo ng career nya specially playing alongside calvin.
Didn't Escobal & Menor play multiple seasons for different teams? That's what I heard but I'm not so sure coz I had moved to the States. Anyway, if they did then that means they had their opportunity. Perhaps they just didn't end up with a coach whose system is a perfect fit for their skills. That's usually the issue with many players who "underachieve". Even in the NBA, right? Or any other lower level leagues. Some players "get lucky" and become stars playing for a coach whose system is a perfect fit for their skills. As I said, it happens in any level of basketball.
This is the problem with the PBA.. konting teams, walang real fanbase for each team. Mga players walang gana maglaro. Magagaling mga players, but the PBA just doesnt give them room to grow as pro athletes.
This is a great format. Great to have Javi with you.
Jeric Teng Sir Mikee! That post-up jumpshot was smooth in the UAAP 💯
Your Eric Salamat point is on point bro!!!

Agree, if not for early/nagging injuries and such Cawaling can play 1-4. He reminds me of Ronald Magtulis then.

Nag-San Mig Coffee Mixers pa si JR Cawaling :)
Nice TNT story idol
Dino aldeguer! His uaap days is great! A hi iq point player
Anliit nya eh.
Ryan buenafe 😂😂 nakalimutan
What if Jeffrey Kirk Long played in the PBA 🤯
Good choice sana si Kirk Long but imagine Mr. Alex Compton having filipino blood and playing in the PBA, crazy no?
Ryan Buenafe! Basic! 🔥
duncil contributed sa championship ng petron, but that was it. circumstances at opportunities talaga. nagkataon na napasok sya sa rotation nun
PBA needs to add 3 more teams, ang daming talent na nasasayang
If aljamal is playing right now hes probably like J.R. Quiñahan
epota 10sec, iso na agad yun hahaha
Idol wag mo kalimutan si Rich Alvarez tsaka si Aaron Aban 😅 UAAP/NCAAA 2000s era. Lakas nila yun dalawa.
Ken Bono and Jimbo Aquino 2 former MVP"S yan

Stretch 4 like RDO.

Great in NCAA, was not given enough break to shine in PBA.
