I imagine there will be more cat mounts in the expansion itself. Either through quests, random drops or the mount vendor. I think the higher editions are basically giving you early access to cat mounts.

I suppose more non-horse mounts will be available through in-game shop, maybe we'll even get one from drop. This specific mount is just pre-order exclusive. It was the same with base game, right?
The campaign expansion is probably WT4 content so dropping the expansion mid season makes total sense. It allows people to be ready to jump right into the new content which is probably 100% WT4 content. My guess is they extend the length of S5 and the midpoint is the expansion release. Since the Spiritborn release is so early I also think they allow you to start S5 with that class. I also think the co-op dungeon stuff will be more like a public dungeon. A bunch of people go into the zone solo and they interact with the bosses like the Maiden from helltides and defeat it that way rather than a strict group. Think more GW2 style raids rather than WoW raids.
My thoughts on mercs is that i always viewed them as an extension of your character in terms of builds. So to me having your merc be part of solving whatever needed to be solved for your build was interesting. I personally think the only thing that was somewhat frustrating with mercs is just bad AI. I am not sure they will go the full D2 route with mercs seeing as most of the changes to D4 has actually been in the D3 direction i would expect mercs to sit in the D3 direction where they have a few niche bonuses they bring but mostly just exist and you don't really think about them. I personally find this to be more boring then having mercs solve a problem that a build has.
I completely agree. I'm not sure what his beef with mercenaries is. Every class has things they really excel at, and things they're not as good at. So being able to pick a merc that can fill that gap in your build is absolutely fine. Or does he really expect every class to be equally proficient in absolutely everything? Barbs should be able to CC as well as Frost Sorc? Necro should be able to facetank as well as barb? Then what is the point of having different classes? Might as well make one generic class that can do it all, and have everybody play just that class.

The way I view it I'll be buying battle passes so $90 version is equivalent to 6 battle passes (1 token, 3k play = 4 + 2800 plat) so cheaper overall cost for a long term player like me!
Committing yourself to play every season because you already paid for the battle pass seems unwise. I spend 70 on base game, I'm sure as fuck not paying 90 for an add-on and some cosmetics lol
Would be cool if the dungeon is like an lufia style infinite dungeon called Ureh . Going in naked and collect gear on the way. Some gear you can take out of the dungeon and most stay in the dungeon.
season timing actually seems like a good idea. release expansion with only a month left of season 5, so that it gives most players time to complete the story without competing with season start, gives ample time for streamers to figure out the bugs and broken builds of spiritborn class, potentially fix some of it AND THEN get in to season 6 with decent content and continued momentum into the season
I am on my 4th Character to lvl from 1-100 this season. Its not a perfect season but i do enjoy things and it will get better. But 90-100 bucks for a game i paid 100 bucks for already ughhhhh. This also doesn't cover future DLCs as well. I think its best to get 40 or 50 bucks one. I don't mind supporting devs and companies so they can do well. But please don't ruin this game for the people that support it and i do mean the company.

If the content is located in the new area, Kurast I think, then none of it will be available without the expansion. This is the equivalent of adding Act 5 in D2, you need LoD to access it. So people who don't have the expansion don't have to worry about not having a mercenary for endgame content. They won't have access to either.
Considering Blizzards obsession with dropping events part way through seasons, I personally would not put it past them to release the expansion part way through the season.
I get what you're saying about the mercs as a band-aid but if they give me one that can produce barrier so I don't have to run shielding storm I will absolutely look right past that concern lol
Season 4 got delayed by about a month so that is what is messing up the timeline for season 5 and the expansion. They should just cut season 5 short. Two months is fine for a season.
Agree on the mercenaries. And yeah we're still stuck with bad clipping in games with anything our characters put behind them. Hair still clip so badly many games just avoid designing long hairstyles. With all the power we have in GPUs these days, even with raytracing, we still can't get clipping down. :( I'm waiting for more info on the PVE co-op content. If it has endgame required stuff or highly valuable stuff exclusively, then I'm probably just going to ditch this game permanently. It would be even more disappointing if it is indeed rogue-like and yet then felt the need to force people into groups.

I think that anyone who plays games games at this point should assume that evryone will get different mounts when the expansion releases. My issue with the expansion price is that the base game is unfinished. Imo the expansion should be straight up free, with an apology note attached to it. "Sorry we rushed Diablo 4 and released a very unfinished product. Here is the rest of the product and then some - FOR FREE! Please come play."

Campaign, campaign, campaign. The campaign in D4 is horrible right now. An extra Act or two in the Expansion will be worthless if it's just more of what D4 currently has. The BIGGEST issue is the lack of difficulty. Everything has been nerfed into the ground, so that people can speed into the Endgame. Your character sneezes and kills a mob of enemies with 3 Elites and a Boss. Nice for leveling and powering up, but it's ruined the Campaign. I will only buy the Expansion if Blizzard "restores" the Campaign. GREATLY increase the Campaign's difficulty and add in a reward system for it that will make it worth playing (maybe make the rewards comparable to Helltide farming).
i subbed for d2 content and have steadily ignored any d4 content, that was uploaded to this channel i would love to see you come back to d2 someday, but i also understand that its not easy making content for a dead game if that day comes, i hope i happen to witness it, even without notifications enabled

They didnt do enough thia season to get me to drop anymore cash on this game. Its going better but that temper system fucking sucks and pits got boring real fast

Classes will ALWAYS have shortcomings. If each class could do everything well what would be the point? Mercs almost never completely plug that gap but they help mitigate it somewhat. Argument makes no sense. So don’t use the merc then. And just fantasize about a class that does everything well and just kill diversity. 🙄

Legendary Glyphs will have to be very special, perhaps you can pick one per character to level at a time or some other such restriction.

Blizzard's been selling Collector's Editions of games and expansions forever, and has been making Deluxe and such editions for over a decade.
