We went on a roadtrip to Chennai from Bangalore in our Car. On the way we explored the best hotels on Bangalore Chennai Highway. We visited Murugan Idly shop, Sai Sangeeth Hotel and Alankar Hotel. We have given recommendation on the dishes we liked there. We visited Vellore temple and fort, there is a lot of history to the Vellore fort.

Hi this is Raju, Last week we have also visited Vellore fort it is under maintenance so public are not allowed to see the fort we also disappointed. But by the we went to gingee fort it is the more beautiful compared to Vellore fort , in gingee there are 2 forts called rajagiri fort and chandragiri fort.. must visit..timing from 9.30am to 4 pm...

The real Good places are in the town. A km or two from the highway.
AVS Vasavi Cafe in Old town, Krishnagiri
Aryabhavan, just off of Denkanikotta road,
Numerous hotels in Kanchipuram.
Ones in the highway just have parking, restroom and are exorbitently priced and hyped. Do not patronize them.

Murugan idli is an horrible place. The food is horrible there and extremely overhyped. They are just running the show with the name and the food quality is pathetic. Had an horrible experience recently and the food was stale and undercooked .
Their Vadapalani branch in Chennai is really good
