- I called the Speech and Language therapist and the paediatrician and both have done nothing. School are still waiting for the EHCP report too! Absolute shambles...
We're a bit annoyed today!
Plus someone asked me why I chose the handle RB6K on social media. So at the end I answer that...
First well done Oli sounds like he his doing amazing⭐ second the system is so slow, took over a year and a half for Luke's ADOS assessment and that was after three nurse and paediatrician appointments which were 6-7 months apart each time, waiting for different questionnaires from school and reports ect ect, from first doctor appointment to diagnosis took 3 years. My biggest advice is you have to keep calling them for everything appointments, results absolutely everything or you get forgotten about, keep calling every week if you have to.
Mad isn’t it. I feel like they probably need a computer system to track it or something!
@@SheepdogSays they definitely need something to help because as it is, its very slow and you can get lost in the system unless you constantly keep calling.
You could write a formal complaint and say the delay is affecting his legal right to access a full time education and it might speed things up a bit, normally you complain to the organisation involved it it the NHS? You could contact PALS, or the council head of Childrens services, as they are responsible for education. In Devon you have to formally complain about absolutely everything to get any service at all it is just routine now to formally complain, and threaten them with the ombudsman. You could call your local Parent partnership advise service for advice? Sendiass? Our asc assessment took 18 months and only as I formally requested expedition as my son was at risk of dropping out due to unmet need, they did nothing and he dropped out, sometimes things can switch from going well to going really badly in a matter of weeks, I dont want to worry you, but you have to nag, hassle, complain etc constantly, I always copy my MP in on all complaint emails and make sure you mark it Formal Complaintx
Sounds about right. Il look at who is best. I feel bad for school even because they’re wondering what to do next. I’ll talk to Liase - they’re our support thing. Maybe they can help!
