- Exploring various canals in the middle of the desert! We found fish in a lot of these canals and even managed to catch 6 species!
Arizona is full of canals, drainage ditches and even some small ponds that just happen to be in the middle of nowhere. These, however, can provide some of the best fishing in the state!
Desert canal fishing is probably my fav fishing now, just due to the scenery and species you can catch out there! Fishing in AZ should not be limited! Get out there and explore!

Hey Magician, I was hoping that you could make a video about carp fishing and using a camera to see how the carp behave and eat the bait If not, maybe you can make a underwater footage video in that small river.

Canal fishing is really quite fun if you can get to the right spot. There are tons of species and it can be a quick trip. They are great for kids too because the fish always seem so willing to bite

Try the canal at Cardnials way by the 101 east side, the water is a little low and you can see the fish swimming up and down

I wish they ran alll thru the state, sadly this is ONLY in the Pheonix area, I moved from Peoria to Seirra Vista and wow got nothing down here. closest water to here is an hour away

I enjoy that canal you fished on day 2. Really cool spot. I’ve caught a few good smallies and a tiny striper in there. I’ll be out there in probably 2 weeks or so to fish it again. Would be cool to get out and fish it with you.
Oh yea it’s a cool little canal, been seeing more garbage there recently it sucks. Hoping it doesn’t blow up at some point. I fish weekdays so maybe I’ll see yah there!

Bro this is my fishing spot right here! I live 5 mins from this spot! If you walk this canal up North youll find broken spot of the canal that there are some monsters hiding there! This is epic seeing you fish thia spot Ive hit for years bro! ❤

How do you find a canel with a fish inside it? When I drove around Arizona I tried to fish like one or two with corn and worms with no luck.

Buckeye Arlington canal you can only fish around the mountain otherwise the guy might make you leave it's his property
If you keep taking it West though you can fish on it i been fishing it for years and the big ones like the shrimp with the head on it

hey! I actually try to keep locations on the dl because of the pressure theyll receive from social media. Seen too many places get destroyed. I suggest browsing google maps and finding areas

Mesa AZ canals all posted no trespassing yet fish and game states it's legal, like medical marijuana law 😮
most those signs just say no tresspassing with vehicles that arent srp. all srp canals are fishable

We used chicken livers for catfish down there for decades then found a new bait thats works much better and we don’t have trouble with turtles anymore.

Finding the fish is part of the fun ! Fish are always moving in a canal they may be there one day gone the next ! - Just get out and fish you'll find them no problem !
Hey brother, just wanted to say that if you ever want to go for some carp I have a spot where it’s loaded. It’s a canal of the sort, but it’s near a major river. The canal is absolutely stacked with carp and has various different depths. If you want the spot I could DM you because I would prefer not to publicly say the spot and have it ruined.

Absolutely man. There’s a huge difference from sharing fishing spots, and sharing fishing spots on social media. Considering I have an audience of 20 k plus people, we gotta assume at least 10k of those people live here in AZ. 1% of those people are 100 people, heck let’s say less than half of that 20 people come out to fish that spot. At least 5 gunnu overfish, keep the fish, leave trash, tell more people, etc… seen waaaaaay too many spots get ruined by social media so I keep where I am on the dl.

I get that. I hate when certain spots are closed because of people ruining them with trash or just being stupid. I appreciate you trying to make sure these locations continue to thrive and for sure bro selective harvest is very important. I don't believe in taking everything we catch especially the big boys.
