So Altare has a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo and is a qualified instructor, a second degree in Kumdo a Korean martial art like Kendo that's more aggressive, knows Hapkido and Muay Thai, has veiny arms meaning he has very little fat, confident enough to walk around at 3 am, has a gun that he is permitted to carry, and now we learn he owns a bunch of sword which while most if not all are probably display pieces and therefore not sharp are still hunks of metal which he knows how to use thanks to Kumdo, yeah I agree with Shinri, I feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to try and rob Altare.
Hmm yes today I will approach this guy walking around with a gun and a smile on his face at 3 am.

The important thing i learned during today's legendary NTR is that Shinri is THE MAN.
Orchid Mantis is the secret shadow producer of NTR.
28:39 He mixed Heaven's Gate and Jonestown together. What Shinri said about the comet was correct about Heaven's Gate, but Jonestown was the incident where they... unalived themselves through the Kool Aid. And the worst part about the latter, is they forced those unwilling to drink. The entire story is just sad, really most cult stories are, but Jonestown is especially.
Every Guyanese person knows of that story, its so sad. I grew up with my mom telling us about it, the same way she learned as a kid. Bc the guy flew all these people to the middle of no where, Guyana, back when it wasnt as populated, deep in the forests. they couldnt return home when they realized they were screwed. He promised them so many good things and they and their kids all died. America was so ashamed of that. It was so horrible. and its kinda fucked up that theres a ''drink the kool-aid" saying and ppl dont know where the saying came from.

1:16:34 Where I live in western Canada we regularly have bears visiting some neighbourhoods in the summer and autumn - though they're certainly not as impressive of a specimen as Hank the Tank. One house used to have peach trees and a young bear was once found in their yard one early evening, quite drunk from gorging on fermented peaches. And when salmon spawning season comes along you can expect to see reports of bear sightings at the river of a local trail.

Personally, I have never caught mud crabs, but I do live in one of the main cities lmao. But it is really pretty here, especially the beaches! I definitely recommend going :)

For myself, I'm always looking for video essays about esoteric subjects, usually video game concepts though; Jacob Geller is a good example. If I had to say, my favorite YT video as of this moment is Tim Roger's 6-hour review of Tokimeki Memorial, a Japanese-only dating sim that I will never be able to play, which should tell you how much even someone like me can enjoy someone's content as long as their script and editing are good enough.

Altare making sure to slip in Tegami Bachi makes me sooo happy! Spread the love of one of my fave manga! I realized why i love these tree so much, they all watch similar things that i do, a variety of weird creepy, cooking, and science! And Orchid Mantis is one of my fave bugs in animal crossing!

This was a really fascinating episode of NTR! I was rather late into the whole youtubing scene. I think a decade ago, I was mostly using it to listen to gaming and anime OSTs and looking up FF14 raid guides, so it was fun to hear about the kind of viewing content everyone was into. My guilty pleasure for awhile was watching Animal Rescue videos! But later on I noticed multiple channels with the same videos, and I later learned that some of the pet rescue videos were staged for content, and reposted across bogus channels for views and clicks, so I became discouraged to watch anything for awhile. My youtube is exclusively Tempus these days, but this podcast has encouraged me to try exploring other content again. I'll reset my algorithm after work today! Thanks for the incredible podcast guys!

The resonance / vibrations is actually not making the noise in the wine glass; it is the air inside the wine glass that is actually making the noise. This is why the amount of water in the glass determines the pitch of the noise. I think you need to place water or salt on the rim to get noise out of it as well?
(The wine glass does vibrate btw. It is what is causing the air to vibrate inside the glass.)

I know what Shinri means, because in contrast a lot of media portrays human life as this grand show on the way out. Like a hero's death vs the cold suddenness of nature. The overwhelming reality that forces a neat introspection
First off, orchid mantis.
Second, I need more episodes.
Third, Shinri is such a vibe. This might have been my favorite NTR episode so far.
Lastly, my own go-to song that make me feel like dancing is the Korone Wan-Wan House song+video by Kanauru and Omiya. That thing is so funky.

I remember being in awe when I caught that Orchid Mantis from Animal Crossing New Horizons! Also that was a great episode, some of the Koipanions I know are enlightened 😅 thanks Pops. I understand the take on watching gorey videos. Another example of this 'guilty pleasure' is watching vets getting rid of tick infestations or professionals getting rid of ingrown hair or pimples. Yes it disgusts me and makes me feel tingly but not enough to stop watching, I get so into it just like a crazy scientist would.
