- As part of the TransLink Maintenance and Repair Program, six escalators at Granville Station are being replaced. Construction will begin with the three main escalators.
We thank our customers for their patience while we complete this important project!

Is it just me but I kinda want to see more animations about what they’re doing
Thanks for the heads up... - and yeah, meters please!
Hah I remember my class from a few years ago were always terrified of the height of the escalators whenever we went to the art gallery or something
Why use feet?!
We're in Canada!
In terms of construction we use feet versus metres, since our main suppliers are from the US and measurements are done in feet. You'll be hard pressed to find a construction site/company that uses metric. With that being said, it makes sense why they would explain it in feet, since the plan shows the length in feet rather than metres.
But this video presented to customers, not the manufacturer.
The animation! 😍😍😍
There should be a playground slide for a fast way to get down.
How is this going to take so long? Could you explain why it will take two years?
It says right in the video. Plus lots of news articles and common sense. Jeez dude pay attention.
I think two years is far longer then it should take to complete the job. I'm asking why it will take so long. Seems like typical government contracts taking longer and being more expensive to me. Did you read some article going into this because I haven't looked that hard.
They don't work evenings, weekends or holidays. That's why it will take so long. Also this isn't government run, TransLink is independent from the government.
What? They don't run child slaves all day, all year. How dare they. Obviously this is why it's going to take so long. Just kidding. I just don't see how it could take this long. Granted I don't know how long it should take. Also isn't it an ex government thing with government regulations on how they contract out that reduces the amount of options and unnecessarily increases complexity.
Yeah, I don’t get it either. Seems like something that should be able to get done in a couple months or so. But it always seems like construction projects around Metro Vancouver get prolonged for no apparent reason. I’ve just gotten used to seeing roads/lanes/turning lanes/etc blocked off for weeks on end, with no apparent work being done in the interim.
I'll miss my way to avoid the line up to the North Shore ...
It’s almost 2022 it’s still not done 😭
@@infiniteaviation431 The escalator replacement at Granville Station has been completed already.

It’s almost 2022 it’s still closed
It's been completed already.
@@MetroElfren really? It says temporarily closed on apple maps
@@infiniteaviation431 It's been completed since last year.
24 months to replace a single escalator? 10 metro lines could have been completed in China for that amount of time! Are you installing an electromagnetic catapult from a nuclear aircraft carrier or what? Ridiculous!
