I definitely thought this was a Disney movie lol my fault yaw !!
What’s your favorite song ?
Rewrite the Stars is STILL in my 2023 Spotify Wrapped playlist 😂
The Greatest Show is my jam, specially ehn Zack Efron starts singing. Shame he stopped doing musicals, he's an amazing singer.
Rewrite the Stars and Other Side for sure!
I subscribe to your channel because I want to see your reaction to a movie that I have seen. I am not here for the movie because I can watch it all by myself. I am here, subscribed to your channel to watch you and it made me happy. Keep it going buddy. 👍
my favorite song is This Is Me
From Now on
Fun fact: Zendaya and Zac did that whole duet scene themselves. They did all the stunts EVEN the jumping part!
Yeah they’re both fire for that 🔥
I love the interview where Zendaya got there the day of and was having second thoughts because no net and higher than she thought. Then Hugh came over and goes “You are so badass I could never do this” and Zendaya was like “TAKE ME UP 👆🏻”
bro the OUTTAKES where they slam into each other 😂😂😂
BEST SONG IN THE MOVIE!!!
Definitely search for the video where they talk about how this went down. It makes the scene 10 times more impressive.
NOBODY that reacts to this movie gets that the house he buys for her is the house they played in as children. Why is that so hard? He bought it and had it restored.
lol literally, I think everyone is mostly just too distracted by listening to the song 😂
I thought it was so obvious I didn't realize some ppl didn't realize that and I only watched the movie for the first time yesterday 😭
Sorry for your loss. I just lost my spouse of 24 years who throughout life sang, played piano, performed, wrote musicals, started a theater company, began after school music programs in underserved public schools, etc.
I watch you because I see in you every passionate young student, actor, singer and musician that I met throughout our lives together. Keep that passion you have. People see it.
Oh I’m sorry for you
God bless you and praying for healing and nothing but blessings your way !
Music is my first love and that’ll never change
Hugh Jackman is a theatre man through and through. He was starring in Oklahoma in the West End when he was cast as Wolverine. He had a perm and was kind of dressed like a cowboy ehen he auditioned.
Next up Chicago and Matilda the Musical 😊
Chicago is awesome, definitely do that one
CHICAGO ♥️
My favorite celeb story is that Hugh Jackman auditioned for wolverine just to have a job in the moment, but he's a theater kid through and through
32:15 While she was in the wrong for the kiss and even willing to be a part of breaking up his family. He was 100% in the wrong for the circus going under. He basically deserted his business, chasing notoriety. It's really the same reason he almost lost his family. Because his wife was right, it wasn't about the other woman she was just another means to an end for him. And as soon as he had to see her as anything besides a meal ticket to him being accepted, but now an actual person with feelings (wrong though they were), that's when he pulled back.
The way you melted after "Rewrite The Stars", we all felt that. 😄 I think we all had the same thoughts about their relationship watching this for the first time. "You fool! You're fumbling Zendaya!"
Fun fact, the bartender in the scene was actually the choreographer for the scene
You should watch “From Now On” and “This Is Me” from the 20th Century Fox Behind the scenes for this movie. It’s when they first showcased these songs to get the movie green lit. I think it’s worth a watch so you can hear Hugh Jackman sing live.
absolutely! These belong to my favourite live performances of all time! The energy in the room is just phenomenal!
And that he also had surgery on his nose and was not supposed to sing, it broke a few stitches and he had to have it fixed
@@david.sandler27there’s also the video “how I saved The Greatest Showman” by Jeremy Jordan. He talks about being asked to sing the score at the presentation since Hugh couldn’t sing. It’s very entertaining (and it’s too bad he wasn’t cast in the movie)
Zendaya did her own stunts for this :) She said in an interview that she was terrified until Hugh Jackman told her she was a badass, then she was all "I got this!"
You should definitely check out the behind the scenes video of Keala Settle singing "This is Me" to get the movie greenlit (posted on youtube by Fox Family Entertainment, 90 mil views). That video lives in my head rent free, the energy in that room is incredible!!
You have to look up Loren Allred, she was the one singing Never Enough!
The actress Rebecca Ferguson has a musical background, but they used Loren's professional recording for various reasons.
It was kept secret for a while until it was revealed and they gave Loren the proper credit!
I’ve heard too that Loren was supposed to just coach Rebecca but Rebecca insisted that Loren do the actual track because she was so good. She did the lip syncing masterfully, though
So I have a question. In the closing credits of the movie version I saw, it lists Loren as being part of the music ensemble and listed (twice) as the vocalist of Never Enough and Never Enough Reprise. However, I had read somewhere that people only knew she was the singer because her name was listed as the vocalist of Never Enough from the soundtrack.
Did they add her name later on to the movie credits?
Great reaction. Remember that this is set in the late 1800's. All of the old prejudices apply. Class, race etc. Even in the 1960's these things are in play. LOL tatoos...mostly sailors/extra tough guys. Who knew even kids would end up with them! (Hugh Jackman--Music Man and Oklahoma)
37:21 I totally agree. I'm no singer but a teacher. And there is no better and more intense feeling than a teen sitting in front of you with big eyes, smiling and saying "oh, that's why? I get it!"
Funnily enough, while everyone tends to see Hugh Jackman as wolverine, I grew up watching him as Curly in the musical Oklahoma. It was kind of the kickstarter of his huge career as he was cast as Wolverine through it
28:56 Fun fact! This is Shuler Hensley who played Jud in Oklahoma alongside Hugh Jackman!
I had the same facts!!! Hahahahaha!!! I love this
I saw Hugh Jackman on stage in Sunset Boulevard in the 90s in Melbourne, Australia! :)
These songs were so popular they were playing on the radio and in everyone's stereo! You couldn't have missed them even if you're just now seeing the movie
I'm an artist and all I want is to share my work with people, not for money, or for fame but because all I've ever wanted to do is make people feel things and tell emotional stories, what you said about making people happy really resonated with me. I'm glad I found your channel and got to see you enjoy one of my favorite movies.
Indeed 🔥 Do it for the right reasons .. and the other things will come 🙏🏼
Making others happy in the long run means so much more to me
As others have said, you should definately react to the green lit behind the scenes version of "This is me". Its almost better than the movie version. And its what made them cast the actress as the bearded lady. Orginally she was only supposed to sing the song. But that behind the scenes version wowed everyone and sealed the deal for the movie and for her. It gave me goosebumps, no lie.
So powerful! I agree, it's better than the scene in the movie and definately emotional.
Actually Hugh Jackman has a musical theatre background! He did that long before becoming an actor ^_^ so yes, he's been singing a looong time hehe. ♥
I am...of an older generation, but I love your channel. Hugh Jackman is indeed a talent of the ages. He can act in comedy and drama, and action adventure. But his beginnings are in musical theater. There is footage of him in an Australian production of Oklahoma as Curly. Zendaya is wonderful and does Oakland CA proud. Lastly, how in world do you not know about Nantucket Island in Massachusetts?
I would really recommend watching her sing live “this is me” for the first time for the cast! The emotionnnssss😮😳🥺
The song A Million Dreams was released as a single by Pink and her daughter. There was a whole cd of covers of the songs from the movie. That may be why it sounds familiar
"Rewrite the Stars" is my favorite number too -- the choreography is so brilliant, with her flying and him on the ground -- the two of them separated in a way they can't bridge -- but then eventually learning to float in between in perfect harmony. It's gorgeous. Meanwhile, the whole movie is just so much fun and the soundtrack lives in my head for days. This was such a wonderful reaction -- thanks for so much thought and emotion here! I get what moves you about performing as a theatre person (more of a playwright, but I was a musical theatre performer for awhile). Kudos for a really witty, real reaction -- liked and subscribed, and looking forward to more. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this beautiful reaction ❤️ you are an amazing person thank you so much and stay loved and blessed as well ❤
That last scene with his daughter dancing and then the quote coming up at the end, sends me into tears every time. This movie is beautiful. Movies/Musicals that tell stories and have a beautiful message will always be my favorite.
Hey man! Your joy brings me joy!
My suggestion: Tick-Tick…Boom! Is a MUST WATCH
That’s fire 🔥 thank you 🙏🏼
Okay the ending of you choking up made me subscribe to you. I have only seen a few of your reactions but I love your vibes and aura.
Love that ! 🤞🏽
Vibing to the song instead of noticing Phineas' father dying is a mood.
Its surprising to me that more people dont know that hugh jackman got his start in theater. I remember seeing him play in Oklahoma, and if im not mistaken that was right before he became wolverine. But yea every time someone reacts to this movie thats like the biggest surprise for everyone though u took it in stride( at first ) 😂 im surprised he didnt star in a musical earlier, though what with how prevalent his role in xmen maybe he didnt have the time.
Now that you've seen Hugh Jackman in this one, you have to do "Les Miserables". It is one of my all-time favorite musicals.
Hugh Jackman has been on Broadway. 2004 he won a Tony Award. He's also been on stage in London.
I love Zac and Zendayas song❤ My husband and I start every road trip with this Soundtrack lol thanks for such a great reaction video😊 I enjoy every video you put out!
I love zac and zendaya too it was amazing!
I remember seeing this in the theatre on the day it came out, and that opening was phenomenal to experience! It's still one of the only movies I've seen in theatres 3+ times, because of how good it is.
Also, my favourite song is Tightrope - it's so underrated and it's the highlight of the movie for me! It's such an amazing song.
I feel it’s important to point out that Barnum was very different in real life. He was a conman, where as the movie makes him out to be a pioneer in equality and all that where really he just did it to farm from peoples curiosity. For me it doesn’t take away from the movie but I also feel that it’s important to have a little bit of background on Barnum himself.
Legit, after, I looked up his bio and it nearly ruined it for me cause he was legitimately TERRIBLE!
I love this movie and the soundtrack so much. I watched in theaters like 4 or 5 times 😂.
If you loved the text at the end, you should watch Meet the Robinson. It's not a musical but the message at end...
One of my favorite movies ever !
Nantucket is an island in Massachusetts. The soundtrack for this movie is 🔥. I remember seeing Hugh outside a Broadway theater when he was staring in a The Music Man. I was just trying to get to the bus station & I thought that is NYC just running into ⭐ on the streets.
you gotta look up when Hugh Jackman heard Keala Settle sing This is Me for the first time. It was insane, he looked so proud and so emotional at the same time. and Hugh did musical theatre in Australia before doing movies!
laughed so hard at how you melted in your chair after rewrite the stars. happened to all of us 😂😂😂
Hugh Jackson started out as a stage actor/singer. He was nominated for his first Tony, Best Actor in a Musical (1998, Oklahoma) & won a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical (2004, The Boy From Oz). And, as others have mentioned, nominated for an Oscar (2013, Les Miserables…another musical).
Hugh Jackman has a musical theatre background and has performed on broadway, off-broadway and the west end!
I remember watching an interview where he was talking about getting the role of Gaston in the Australian production of Beauty and the Beast.
He said his manager asked him if he could sing and he said yeah when actually he couldn’t or at least not well enough for theatre. So he took singing lessons leading up to his audition.
I would LOVE to see you react to Spirited! Its a Christmas musical that stars Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer. It blew my mind and is now one of my favorite musicals!! ❤
Also, I think another musical you might want to check out is Singin' in the Rain. It is a classic and the dance scenes and just the visuals are next level. Especially given when it was made. Gene Kelly is an unparalleled dancer, Debbie Reynolds is just the cutest thing and Donald O'Connor is whole other level of physical comedy.
Yes!! He should watch some old school musicals! Singing in the rain really holds up and is really fun!
I just discovered your videos, and I really appreciate who you are a person, and especially that you are a dad teaching your kids how to be good people. I also have to say that I have two girls myself, 19 and 15, and just hang in there, they will make you proud and they will drive you nuts. lol. Having girls is the best...keep them strong and confident and encourage them well. ❤
Thank you for the kind words! 🌸
Just wanted to mention that this isn’t a Disney film! The acquisition was actually announced the same December this film came out, so this movie was all OG 20th Century Fox. Probably why we haven’t gotten a sequel.
25:21 yea this movie’s music was so popular! All over the radio, they even had an album where different artists covered the songs. I remember when I first watched this movie. I had on in the background while I was on my phone, every time a song came on, I was like 👀 glued to the tv. LOVE this soundtrack ❤
please add Into The Woods to your musical reaction list, I know you'll enjoy that one. Mamma Mia is also a must, you'll have a lot of fun with that one if you need a happier vibe lmao
Yes, Into the Woods is fantastic!
This was one absolutely huge movie. The soundtrack did amazing in sales and the charts also. I went to the cinema several times to watch this, I loved it that much
Not me singing “say something, I’m giving up on you” at the exact moment you did 🙌🏻🤣❤️
One of my favorite movie musicals. I cry everytime I hear some of the songs. I went to see this movie with my dad because we shared the love of music and musicals. He died in 2021 and I always think of hi when I see this film. My favorite songs are From Now On" and "Rewrite the Stars". I swear I tear up everytime I get to the 2nd hook of "From Now On" towards that harmony at the end. Anyways, I need that list because I love musicals but I really havent seen a lot of them.
I have been a silent watcher of your channel for a while now and I gotta say I love your reactions. Thank you for being kind and funny as hell. 😂❤
I LOVE this movie so much. "Rewrite The Stars" is also my FAVORITE song in this movie. ❤
I lost my mom on the 5th of December and the 5th makes it one year without her. I miss her so much. And a year before that my older brother had passed unexpectedly. So I understand how you feel. I am so sorry for your loss. I almost got choked up again. Thank you for being you. I can't wait to see what is next for this channel.
One last thing, if I could suggest a musical movie, I would suggest Rent. Especially since Christmas and New Years is coming soon. It takes place during that time. Slight warning so your not that shocked, its a little sad BUT SO GOOD! Even if you don't do a reaction, I HIGHLY recommend you watch anyway. But please consider a reaction. Thank you again and have a blessed day. 😊
This is my favorite movie of all time. It never fails to make me happy. Thank you for reacting to this❤️
I know this is a comment that came too late, however, you are awesome and never doubt that. You are exactly where you are suppose to be. Thank you for watching this musical and sharing your time with us.
Looking forward to you doing more musicals! So many good ones available to you!
Def gotta check out behind the scenes of Keala singing This is Me & Hugh singing From Now On
Wow. How did I stumble over your channel only now? What a wonderful reaction from a wonderful, beautiful human being. Subbed!
God bless you 🙏🏼🤍
The actress that plays Jenny Lind isnt the one singing. The real singers name is Loren Allred. Shes phenomenal.
If you haven’t watched the behind the scenes where Hugh Jackman was trying to get this movie green lit, and had just had surgery on his nose, and wasn’t supposed to sing, but did anyways…that entire room is vibrating with energy! Must watch! ✨
This is my all time favorite movie i love the circus and love musicals so this was just a combination of that, this movie was also a way to help me feel better on my birthday in 2018 my nana showed it to me and its been a comfort movie ever since
I feel like the movie "Wonder" would legit put this man in tears lmao
I LOVE this movie, each of the songs everything. I am so glad you are here on CZcams to give us such great content. I cried in the last part and all you said.
loved the video And i remember watching it in the cinemas on big screen in 2017 it was amazing and i still love the greatest showman now and the songs are so such a bop and the storyline is so good and your so sweet and you don't deserve hate and lots of love from australia ❤
The kid who played young Barnum was actually so talented. His vocal range is incredible
Hey! I just found your channel with this video. I was obsessed, I mean totally obsessed, with this movie and it's still one of my absolute all time favorites. From looking at the comments below I see everyone's already told you the things I wanted to, but one thing I'll add. I loved what you said about doing the best you can on CZcams and still getting hated. I almost gave up CZcams for that reason a few years back. I'm glad you feel the way you do, there are people out there who watch you and love what you do, and one of the best things is being able to share joy, which is what you do. Keep on truckin' ok? Thanks for a great video, I'm about to go check out what else you have.
“Y’all all had the same crush” nahhh speak for yourself!! I was all over mister Corbin Bleu 😂
You can watch Hugh Jackman in “Oklahoma “ from 1998 and he spent a good chunk of his early career in musicals.
My suggestion if you haven’t already seen it is West side story either the 1961 or the 2021 version they are both beautiful in their own way or the new Wonka movie
Yeah. Saw this on a rented DVD at Seaside, Oregon the year it came out. My friend's Quince, I was on the court and we did 3 of the songs and did our own custom dance to it. So yeah, these songs are great.
This is one of my favorite musicals
This is one of my favorite musicals of all time 💜
Rewrite the Stars is my favorite song and scene too. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it! 💜
I love this movie and the soundtrack it’s literally one of my favorites. The writer of the soundtrack also did the music for Dear Evan Hansen. You must also watch Into the Woods little so good!
I LOVED THIS SHOW! I watched it on repeat when I was younger like 1million times
*MOVIE NOT SHOW*
-This is the greatest show got me lol-
Watching from Nantucket 😅
This is one of my favorite movies ever, thank you for a great reaction!
my fave scene is the other side not necessarily cause it’s the best just because of the memories associated with it.
when i was younger me and my best friend were obsessed with this movie and we would sing and dance to all the songs. for this one we used juice boxes instead of alcohol. i was zac and she was hugh. one of my core memories right there and now that song is my fave.
This movie "going that hard" right at the beginning definitely got some dopamine into my brain... especially since I had done some acting as a hobby a handful of years prior to seeing that movie, so it brought back some very potent memories :D
Hugh Jackman has done musicals on Broadway. He has a Tony. He is musical theatre BEFORE Wolverine.
You are a beautiful and amazing human! Thank you for the reaction!
I bought the DVD of this movie and the behind the scene of how all the music was developed is as interesting as the movie!
The music in this movie is fire. When it came out I have the soundtrack on repeat. And I still listen to it. This is me is such a hype song. I absolutely adore Rewrite the stars. And I have a soft spot for Tightrope.
And I so enjoyed your reaction. It is so beautiful and refreshing to see you enjoy these movies for what they are. And I think it requires a certain level of maturity and self-security to just see a movie and take what it is giving without putting it down for not being this or that. I think I also especially like your reaction to movies with music, as that is a twofer :D
Comment Part 2 -- In real life PT Barnum became the mayor of Bridgeport, CT. It's known as the Park City because of all the parks he created throughout the city. Over 30 years ago I went to the PT Barnum Museum in Bridgeport. It had all kinds of memorabilia from the early years of the "circus." I think they had a genuine costume worn by Tom Thumb and all kinds of things. I don't know if the museum is still around.
This is my first time seeing your reaction! And I laughed and cried! That's why I subscribed you are my favorite!!
Zendaya learned how to use the trapeze for this movie that was really all her
Aaahh I always enjoy your reactions! As a fellow singer I’m curious about your singing now, you should make a singing/music CZcams channel!
Maybe one day! 🔥 keep singing !
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Lauren’s wasn’t the only one who came back, where
mulligan became James Madison,
Samuel seabury became a dancer and a doctor
Charles lee became a dancer and a doctor
Lafayette became Jefferson
Peggy became Maria reynolds
James reynolds became a BACKROUND dancer
You've maybe heard some of these songs before because they were indeed everywhere (this movie was INCREDIBLY popular when it came out!) and there was an album with cover versions of the whole soundtrack, so maybe you've heard those versions too/instead? Either way, I love this movie just as much as I did the first time I watched it and it's always just as powerful and emotional. Also the harmony at the end of "From Now On" always gives me chills, it's so beautiful ❤
the algorythm came through when it suggested you, what a straight up good soul ✨
God bless you Taylor 🤍
Only thing that I can suggest that hasn't been with seeing the behind the scenes video of This is Me that was done live for the Executives to get the movie green lit after 7-9 years of them trying to get it approved. It's a wild story.
I would also suggest listening to the re-imagined album of The Greatest Showman. Similar to the Hamilton Mixtape, it has famous artist performing the songs from the show. It's amazing
Your comment about children loving unconditionally, about how you can hurt them for years and they still love you; that's put some things in perspective for me. It's going to take me a while to unpack that one, but thank you. I've only watched a couple of your reactions so far, but I'm really enjoying your authenticity and intelligent commentary.
So off to check out your channel now. Hoping In the Heights and Hamilton are in your library!
Hamilton is, in the heights is a Patreon exclusive only
16:28, well actually I had a crush on Corbin Bleu during hsm, thank you very much lol
You might remember the one song from the radio version that Pink did. I looooove her version.
I asked my Nan for the Oklahoma soundtrack in Middle School. She got me the live version that had Hugh Jackman as Curly. I have loved him since, I think that was in 1998? Funnily enough, at 28:55 the guy heckling them was also in Oklahoma with Hugh Jackman. His name is Shuler Hensley, and his rendition of "Lonely Room" in Oklahoma is my favorite ever. So so great.
Link to Lonely Room if you're at all interested: czcams.com/video/L4jFhFGg8co/video.htmlsi=Fz8tp_ydzfdhWWe-
and a link to Hugh Jackman's Curly: czcams.com/video/fY36ZFydH84/video.html
This is one of my favorite films and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Please react to Tick…Tick… Boom!
Keep hearing that one a lot ! It better be good lol 💪🏽
Your reactions videos make me happy stim
I absolutely love, love, love, love this movie. Although I have the dvd I also watch it on the Disney+ channel. And YES this movie was very popular when it csme out, and yes, some of the songs have since been played on the radio.. and YES they are ALL original songs. I guess you know it's based on Barnum/Ringling Bros Circus. If you do a background check you will see he actually had these people in his circus. The tattooed guy.. tattoos were not a thing in the late 1800 early 1900's it would have been a novelty. But listen I can't begin to tell you HOW MANY TIMES I've watched this movie and now that you've given me the "chopped up" version I'm gonna go and watch it... AGAIN.. in it's entirety and yes singing along will happen.👍🏾😲
I love your reactions, man. When I found out that I *hadn't* subscribed already, I immediately rectified that mistake.
I get how you feel. I'm a small-tuber... I still haven't hit 600 subs... but this morning one of my subscribers says to me, "Your channel is a gamechanger for me because you make it more about the games you play." I don't really know what they mean, but they've commented enough to know I'm doing *something* several of them love that most gaming channels aren't doing. I'm just here to make people happy.
Keep grinding 🔥🔥🙏🏼 we have to start somewhere!
I❤This Musical!🥰🤣🤗🎶💃🩷🎛🖥
Back in 2003 he was in a musical on Broadway called "The Boy from Oz" I don't know if he won awards for this but I remember a funny story he told on a late show. The main character in the musical was gay and he had to do a kiss with his male costar. Just as he was about to "connect" a voice came from the audience (I'm paraphrasing here) Oh no Wolverine don't do it! 😂
So, yes he was known as a song and dance man way before he was Wolverine! I just love The Greatest Showman, the dancing the singing every song a winner! So happy you liked it!
Jackman actually lended his voice in Happy Feet.
