I learned martial arts as a young woman and it has saved me several times in actual fighting. The confidence it has given me has also allowed me to find ways to avoid conflict in many cases too.

This is an excellent way to get women seriously injured or killed. Unless you are a highly trained female, the average woman has no chance to defend herself against the average male. All this superficial training will do is give these women the false bravado that their training will keep them safe as opposed to using more common sense approaches like guns, mace, dogs, male companions or travelling in pairs or groups of women.
