This is the *exact* same spot Chris Laundrie took LE to search a couple of weeks ago, but the park was FLOODED and it was impossible to find anything significant. The park opened yesterday because the waters have receded, and the Laundries wanted to go back for another look and contacted the FBI. The remains and belongings found had apparently been underwater for some time and had been scattered over a wide area.
The Laundries' behavior with regard to Gabby Petito's disappearance and murder has been baffling and reprehensible, but it's quite clear now that the fact that their (probably) son's remains were found on the first day they joined the search is not a mystery at all.

that his parents knew if caught he would suffer for the rest of his life in prison or get the death penalty and if not caught he could go on to kill again & again.
So out of love, not hate, they took him to the reserve and killed him. Parents have been known to do such a thing. (the "i brought you into this world, i will take you out" thinking). Then waited several days before reporting him missing to give nature time to do it's thing (gators, etc) to cover up any signs of foul play.
I know this theory goes against everything else people are saying .. but there seems to be a hot-headed knee-jerk herd mentality going on with few doing any calm 'outside the box' thinking.

Gabby Petitos family will never have the answers that they long for and deserve. The only other hope they may have are Brian’s parents. It’s obvious they have many of the answers. The Laundries would not answer the Petitos desperate and concerned telephone calls for Gabby even before they reported her missing. It’s obvious Brian called his parents on his way out of dodge in a panic and told them what he had done and needed immediate legal representation. This is why the Laundrie family was not at all surprised when Brian came home with Gabby’s van and without Gabby. The whole Laundrie family then went on a camping trip and supposedly no one in the Laundrie family had any questions as to Gabby’s whereabouts. This including the “innocent” Cassie who stated, “it never came up”. Cassie who said Gabby was like a sister to her and Cassies children loved Gabby so much. Brians beloved live in fiancée Gabby is a “no-show” for the family camp out and no one in that despicable family uttered a word about where Gabby could be. I call a huge load of bullshit!

How did the parents plant those items? Every facet of their lives has been under constant surveillance. There have been people camped out in their yard, their neighborhood, and the Carlton Reserve pretty much 24/7. Also, Chris Laundrie met with LE/FBI recently at Carlton Reserve. And, the Laundries have told LE the area to search for Brian earlier in the search for him after he went “missing”. Unfortunately, weather was not on their side so they had to wait until the water receded. I’m not defending this family, but I do believe in “innocent until proven guilty” and everyone has the right to undue process. It’s not a crime for the parents not to speak to media and to LE. And, none of us knows what Brian told his family when he came home alone. Perhaps they really did not have any knowledge or suspicions regarding Brian and Gabby until after he went “hiking” and never came back. Also, we do not know the relationship that the Laundrie family had with Gabby’s family. Maybe they were not on friendly terms even before this all happened. Perhaps their lawyer advised them to keep quiet and not talk to anyone, but that doesn’t necessarily make them guilty of anything. Public opinion is just that…opinion and a lot of speculation. And everyone is saying this is domestic violence, but I haven’t read any reports that says that Brian had ever been physically abusive towards Gabby. They both seemed to have some issues and were toxic to one another, not just Brian towards Gabby. I believe this wasn’t pre-mediated and was more a crime of passion. I recently took a road trip to Utah with my husband at the beginning of June. It was hot, we were on the road for long hours at a time visiting National/State Parks and there were a few times we snapped at each other. We didn’t kill each other, but I’m sure there were times my husband wanted to get away from me because we were so hot and so tired. So I can see how this could have happened, not that I am justifying it.

Perhaps the police found the personal items and were pretty sure they were Laundrie's but to be sure they asked the parents to come and identify them. Perhaps the parents said they want to be the first on the scene to help with identification. Perhaps Laundrie told his parents if you don't hear from me for a number of days and/or weeks then look for me here. Perhaps he swore them to silence somehow. We will probably never know the full truth.
