As a former catholic, I have been hearing this kind of interpretations of the Bible being preach in the church since I was a kid. I had been holding onto this beliefs without even reading the Bible itself. Most ordinary Christians doesn’t care reading the Bible themselves. I had only started reading the Bible seriously when I have known Islam. It was because I wanted to check the verses which my Muslim colleagues had quoted from the Bible which I was never aware of. I also discovered that the Bible didn’t even talk about Trinity and there’s no clear teaching there that Jesus claimed to be God. He instead, had been telling the people that The Father is the Only True God . He had always call himself, the son of man, and he acts and performs miracles by the power and permission of the Father. Despite of these clear teachings of Jesus, Christians are still confused and lost. The Concept of Trinity and all the beliefs and practices that comes along with it, was originated from the Vatican and was never taught by the earlier prophets of God including Jesus. Alhamdulillah for Allah’s guidance, the Truth had set me free.

I was born into parents who are followers of the Catholic Church, and because of that, I end up following the same religion without question. I had cling to this religion and it’s doctrine more than 30 yrs of my life, until that day when I begun my search for the truth.
I believe that the Holy Scriptures and the Prophets are the most authentic source of God’s Words, and that’s why it was the Bible that I first read during that time. In the Old Testament, the number 1 of the 10 Commandments of God given to Moses speaks of the Oneness of God-“ I am the Lord thy God, thou shall have no other gods before me”. In the New Testament, JOHN 17:3 Jesus states “Now this is eternal life; that they know you, the ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent”. There are many other verses where Jesus spoke about Oneness of God but he never claims divinity for himself. These teachings were enough for me to know and acknowledge the Monotheistic belief over the trinitarian belief I was exposed to. Now, since you mention ‘nicene’, I had to read about it because I am not aware of it. I guess you are talking about the Nicene Creed which was formulated by the early Roman Catholic Church leaders at the time of Constantine. Yes, indeed it states that “l believe in One God, the Father the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth” - but along with this, they also affirmed that Jesus as “the Son of God” is of the same divinity with the Father. Then the creed had undergone revisions in which they had added the Holy Spirit to be worshipped and glorified with the Father and the Son. This concept of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to be equally worshipped and glorified contradicts the concept of Monotheism which the Prophets of God including Jesus( which we can read in the Bible) had been preaching during their lifetime. Our Creator had given us the freedom of choice, we should use them wisely. Most importantly, we should ask The Almighty God, The Guardian of All, to guide us and lead us as we sincerely seek the truth. He, no one else, can guide us to The Straight Path.

- Ignore the clear direct literal explicit passages showing that Jesus is not God: "The only true god is the Father", "not my will, but Father's will", "Father sent me", "I am messenger", etc.
- But taking metaphors literally? Like "Father and I are one". How can a god and a human are one *literally?* Taking it literally is an idolatry. Blasphemy against God.
- Making conjectures from vague passages? "In the beginning was LOGOS". Logos is translated with many different meanings throughout the Bible. None of them refer to Jesus so it could NOT be Jesus. Can you stop forcing conjectures?
- And still confused at the end? Unless you are "reborn" aka brainwashed. Or... you are Pagans.
