@@Lepuss so the fact a farmer makes 2 dollars a day in Ethiopia and an American farmer makes probably 200 times that in a day is not because the United States economy is better than Ethiopia’s?
It absolutely is. The GDP/Per Capita of a British citizen is far less than that of the poorest state in America, Alabama.
With more production means more profits(assuming that MR>MC due to economies of scale) and more profits means more wages for workers. With a larger economy in America, there is more room to pay referee’s more money.
That is exactly how economics work, I literally study it in school

@@GetmoreTV There are several reasons why salaries in the United States tend to be higher than in many Western European countries. Some of the key factors include:
Economic Structure: The U.S. has a more market-driven economy compared to many Western European countries, which tend to have more regulated labor markets and stronger labor unions. This can lead to higher wage levels in the U.S. due to the influence of supply and demand dynamics.
Productivity: Historically, the U.S. has had higher levels of labor productivity compared to many Western European countries. Higher productivity can lead to higher wages as workers are able to produce more value per hour of work.
Education and Skills: The U.S. has a strong emphasis on higher education and skills development, which can lead to higher wages for workers with specialized skills and qualifications.
Cost of Living: While salaries in the U.S. may be higher on average, the cost of living can also be higher in many parts of the country compared to Western Europe. This can offset some of the wage differentials.
Taxation and Social Benefits: Western European countries often have higher taxes to support generous social welfare programs, such as universal healthcare, paid parental leave, and subsidized childcare. While these programs provide important social benefits, they can also result in lower take-home pay for workers compared to the U.S.
Labor Market Regulations: Some European countries have stricter labor market regulations, such as higher minimum wages, stronger employment protections, and shorter working hours. While these regulations can benefit workers in terms of job security and work-life balance, they can also affect wage levels.
