    Thanks for the info. A few weeks ago I ask several people what is the best charger for

      Hota chargers are very good as well! Thanks for watching :-)

    Thanks for sharing. I am waiting on mines to arrive. It is an awesome charger for sure.

    • @DoRC

      Yeah for the price it seems really good. Even if it didn't have the fancy smart feature I think it would be a decent deal.

    I was on Amazon yesterday looking for this charger they wanted $200 so I had to order the ovionic dual charger I hope it’s a great charger next to this one thanks for the awesome video

      I'm sure that charger will be good as well. Ovonic makes good stuff! Let me know how it goes:)

    Hota is a chinese company and makes the best chargers. China makes the best electronics period. Milwaukee power tools all apple products all snap on computers etc.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 22 dny +1

      Good things definitely come from China but bad things also come from China :-) That being said I recommend the s6 to pretty much everybody.

    Noob question. Thanks for your videos. Will it discharge or whatever it is for long term storage? Can it charge 8000mah 6s?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Yes and yes. That being said it's going to discharge very slowly to storage like most chargers. If you discharge often you might want to look at one of the dedicated storage dischargers like the one from sky RC.

    HOTA S6 or D6 is the superior charger IMO.
    I for one do not want any proprietary charger tech, battery tech, or connectors.
    They are a gimmick anyway.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +1

      I don't really think that this is that proprietary. Like I said in the video I think this was made by hota and if you don't want to use those smart feature you don't have to. It'll work just like a regular charger. The smart features are really just if you want them. Overall for a 300 w charger that appears to be made by hota for $129 it seems like a good deal to me! Thanks for watching :-)

      I'm not sure. I don't have this charger anymore. Did you check the manual?

  • @EmmsReality

    Can it charge the Spectrum Lipos tho?? I started with this and had traxxas and axial builds. Now we got into Arrma and the smaller ones didn't use the balance charger...now i need to buy the spectrum charger or can i get a attachment for the spectrums?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 5 měsíci

      You can charge the V1 Smart batteries but not the V2 Smart batteries that don't have a balance connector. Unfortunately the balancing circuitry is internal on those batteries and they can only be charged with a spectrum charger.

  • @moravtchik

    Can I i connect a regular battery and the JST-XH plug to the charger?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 8 měsíci +2

      What do you mean by regular battery? What type of battery chemistry?

    • @moravtchik
      @moravtchik Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@DoRC Thanks for your reply! I meant a 2s lipo, but not a Gens Ace "smart charging" battery. Regular JST-XH without their unique connection.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 8 měsíci +3

      @@moravtchik oh yes. You can charge any lipo on it. It's capable of charging the Smart lipos but it is not required. It just runs a standard XT60 input with balance connector so if you are battery is not XT60 you'll just need to adapter for that.

    • @moravtchik
      @moravtchik Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@DoRC Thanks, I'll get a Deans to XT60 adapter. I was just worried that I won't be able to plug in the JST-XH into the charger and I'll need a balance board. The JST-XH is only 3 pins and the socket on the charger looks like it's designed for a bigger plug.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @moravtchik Yeah that's no problem. A balance board will work but the connector on the charger will allow you to plug in whatever size balance connector you have. You just won't use all of the pins.

  • @andrewcaldrewood2387
    @andrewcaldrewood2387 Před rokem +1

    I have been using a spectrum s2100. The charger has been awesome, the spectrum batteries how ever suck. I have 3 and they all swelled and cracked the case. The self storage mode never worked either.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +2

      I've heard quite a few negative things about the Spektrum smart batteries. That's why I like these. They auto detect on the charger but don't do any overly "smart" things in the batter itself.

  • @dannystrathopolous5302
    @dannystrathopolous5302 Před rokem +1

    Will it charge traxxas batteries

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +1

      Yes but the Traxxas batteries have the balance lead built into the connector so you'll have to get an adapter that breaks out the balance connector from the battery connector.

  • @gigi9467

    What a horrible review, no specs! Seemed more like a commercial

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +1

      I'm sorry you were disappointed. I try not to get too deep into the weeds on specifications because it tends to bore people and they stop watching the video.
      That being said exactly which specification were you looking for?

    • @gigi9467
      @gigi9467 Před rokem +1

      @@DoRC i see, i can see that. Well here is my question which i was hoping to get answered but would a charger that has 200w per channel and up to 25amp with a BALANCE current of only 400ma be slower than this because the balance current is 1.2amp even though it only has 150 watter per channel and 16amp?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +1

      @@gigi9467 It depends. If your batteries are pretty close to being balanced to begin with which any healthy battery really should be then the balance current really doesn't play a huge factor in charge time. If your batteries are pretty severely unbalanced then the higher balance current will speed things up. Again though you have batteries that are consistently out of balance enough that it would make any difference I would strongly suggest scrutinizing those batteries since they may have problems.
      Another thing to mention is that a lot of chargers will sit there and try to get the balancing absolutely perfect when the charging is done but if you're within a couple of hundred millivolts you can just go ahead and stop and charge because that's close enough.

    • @gigi9467
      @gigi9467 Před rokem +1

      @@DoRC oh thats a very good point. Saying the batteries are in good shape which of the two chargers mentioned would u take?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem

      @@gigi9467 as long as the charger is from a good reliable company and has the features you need I would probably go for the more powerful one because in my opinion more power is pretty much always more better. That being said cost will play a big factor as well. Not sure which one the other charger is but if you want something that's a bit more power without going crazy on price check out the hota S6. It's also 400 watts on AC and has a great reputation. It's my daily driver charger and between it and the predecessor d6 I have probably four or five years experience with them.
