Reality of India is that we are third world country. Our GDP per capita is less than many African countries. We comes in top 3 in income inequality in the world. Despite 1.4 billion people we suck at sports. Take any index which measures human development, be it world innovation index , world hunger index , corruption perception, gender gap index and so on we don't even rank top 100 in any of them. Let alone top 100 we generally either are last or in bottom 10.

The poor in India remain impoverished because companies benefit from the availability of cheap labor. If the poor were to rise out of poverty, labor costs would increase. Spending millions of dollars on Hollywood celebrities for private weddings doesn't prove anything significant. Achieving 10 Olympic gold medals or a 10% economic growth rate would make a much stronger statement to the world about India's progress.
Have you seen the basic infrastructure in the country? It is on par with that of many Sub-Saharan African nations. Media houses, owned by the same billionaires, still compare India with Pakistan instead of China. China is decades ahead of us in every conceivable way. Social media numbs us to the ground reality of India. The fact that billionaires like these literally keep bureaucracy, judiciary, government and media in their pockets tells you who has the most power in this country and this is extremely concerning. They can easily get away with anything while relatively poor people like you and me won't and will be affected by everything that they do including the huge carbon footprint they generate as a result of such weddings that's causing climate change.
