You don't have to upgrade it, the point of upgrading it is to make it produce far more and be far more efficient. Without the upgrades it will be a significant decrease in the amount of revenue you get. I would estimate that you would probably only make around 500 mil a day (24 hours) compared to the 2B+ with the upgrades
Pineapples aren’t one of the oily ones, the other totems are just used to help stop despawn issues and don’t actually need seeds and don’t produce any crops
i did some calculations using almost minimum dv prices and found your farm only costs 1.1 billion at the minimum to build not including costs for pineapple totems

there almost no difference sadly fully upgraded totems make it worse sometimes
if fully maxed its just a waste because of the length of the farm

grow the farm slowly, but i recommend having atleast 10b before you even start building something like this

GOLD alone cost over 50b for lvl 47. You should 100% have atleast 10b

because You cant change how fast totems work, the Seeds grow fast enough on lvl 140 so upgrading higher wouldnt make the farm faster
