    These are the exact five watches on my reading list. Kristian is a God 🙌

    I own a two tone titanium and rose gold, blue dialed 42mm Laureato. I’m smitten. Absolutely stunning. I’m a believer that the best stuff in horology is still out there and available at prices you wouldn’t believe, you just have to look for it. In the case of the Laureato, it’s different, fresh, uncommon and exquisitely finished. A present and future classic for sure.

    Glad to see you Kristian. Old TZ'er / Paneristo / Purist here. I am with you on the SeaQ. For the longest time (20+ years) I was considering myself a Rolex guy, and it is still by far the most represented in my collection (vintage, mostly), but the silliness of the past 3 years has put an end to that. I am looking for a very nice diver with great finishing and a reasonable sight, and have my sights firmly on the SeaQ in Reed Green.

    Can someone explain to me what the Laureato has over the Alpine Eagle? I went out to the watch shop and tried on both and have to say the Alpine Eagle feels much better. Yet everyone is talking only about the GP

    I’m in agreement with the GP Laureato, beautiful watch very underrated, And would suggest you are a bit more enlightened in horology than say someone with just another hyped Rolex.

    Got that chopard alpine eagle large. Totally worth the $ compared to the hyped AP RO or Patek 5711. Rare and no one has it.

    It’s fun to talk about resale value but at the end of the day I buy a watch because I want to wear it. I only care about such prices at the time of acquisition because I’m always looking for the best deal. This is coming from a Rolex owner who believes some of his pieces are overvalued but will never sell due to sentimental reasons that always outweigh monetary pressures.

    Great selection gents. I think Chopard is a great value proposition and I've seen significant discounts for the LUC GMT one which is also beautiful watch. I've been considering the Laureato for a while and the chrono panda is a thing for beauty. There are so many choices !

    Too bad IWC ruined the Ingenieur line, replacing it with an anonymous watch. I bet sometime in the future they will go back..

    • @christ6874
      @christ6874 Před 2 lety +3

      I was surprised to see that IWC still had the Ingenieur line. The current ones don’t seem to have any Ingenieur DNA at all. Such a pity.

      Nothing beats the 1990's design language by IWC in my opinion. Clean looks, functional and beautiful. Even a 90's Ingenieur is a desirable piece..

    Im a proud Portofino owner, the blue dial with rose gold markers is unbelievably beautiful and it explodes when the sun hits it. The watch is 9mm thin and becomes a part of your arm. nobody cares about this watch which makes it a steal

    I just watched this video today. You had great predictions as the GP Laureato has taken off recently. The other four brands are still so so, but it will be interesting to see who is the next to become popular. Thanks for the excellent work!

    An interesting selection of the 5 watches.

    I Love GP and Laureato! Gp is underrated brand but I am sure that ppl start to be bored to wait years to be in wish list for Rolex(bored brand now) AP or Patek. I think that GP will be in next future like AP now! I will buy soon. I love also my portofino, it’s better finished of Da Vinci or Portuguese. Absolutely great!

    Great vid! really liked your conversation and detailed description of the watches. really like the alpine eagle. will pull the trigger soon. I find the seaq very sexy, but too expensive for what it is, and for the same price I can buy a much better watch (IMO) for that price.

    • @Nickameijer1
      @Nickameijer1 Před 2 lety +1

      really? I think the price is very fair if you see the level of watchmaking and finishing inside. If we compare retail prices the SEAQ is in GMT-Master territory and that could be a tough choice. In terms of market value it's a different story..

      You can easily find it for 30% off the price list, at which stage it is about half the price of the market value of a Submariner.
