RWBY (pronounced "Ruby") is an American anime-styled animated web series and media franchise created by Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth. It is set in the fictional world of Remnant, where young people train to become warriors (called "Huntsmen" and "Huntresses") to protect their world from monsters called Grimm. The name RWBY is derived from the four main characters' forenames: Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang, as well as their associated theme colors; Red, White, Black and Yellow, and their combined team name: Team RWBY.
Whitley Schnee is the younger brother of Weiss and Winter Schnee. He is first seen in "Remembrance" at the Schnees' home. After their father, Jacques Schnee, stripped Weiss of her position as heiress in "Punished", Whitley became the heir to the Schnee Dust Company until the company's destruction.
Following his father's arrest in "As Above, So Below" however, all of the company's employees abandoned him and his mother Willow Schnee at their home. After running into Weiss and her friends again, he was originally reluctant to help them until having a change of heart and made up with his sister in the process while using all of the company's resources to help them save Mantle until it's destruction in "The Final Word".
Weiss Schnee is one of the protagonists of RWBY. She is a Huntress, a former student of the now-defunct Beacon Academy, and former heiress of the Schnee Dust Company. Her weapon of choice is a Multi-Action Dust Rapier (MADR) named Myrtenaster.
As the former heiress of the vastly influential Schnee Dust Company, Weiss made her first appearance in the "White" Trailer. After enrolling in Beacon against the wishes of her father, Jacques Schnee, she becomes a member of Team RWBY alongside Ruby Rose, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long. She is the younger sister of Winter Schnee and the older sister of Whitley Schnee.
Following a lengthy battle against Cinder Fall, Weiss was blasted off of a platform and into the void under the Central Location. Her current status is unknown.
Willow Schnee is the mother of Weiss, Winter and Whitley Schnee, as well as the estranged wife of Jacques Schnee and daughter of Nicholas Schnee. A portrait of her was first seen in "Remembrance". Her first full appearance was in "Cordially Invited".
Volume 8 is the eighth season of RWBY. It premiered on November 7th, 2020, and ran for 14 episodes. The volume was preceded by Volume 7 and will be followed by Volume 9.
Salem and her forces arrive in Atlas and battle against General Ironwood's army. Meanwhile, Ruby's group and the Happy Huntresses all struggle to aid the people of Atlas and Mantle from the Grimm and get the Amity Communications Tower operational while avoiding arrest by Ironwood's forces. With chaos spiraling throughout the Kingdom, the heroes struggle between fighting Salem's machinations and Ironwood's ruthless actions. All the while, Penny Polendina begins going through an existential crisis after becoming the Winter Maiden while Qrow Branwen and Robyn Hill bond over their similarities after being framed for Clover Ebi's death.
During the conflict, people from all sides like Yang's Group start to distrust the people they work for and pursue their own goals in the process. Meanwhile, Salem's most recent Grimm begins to put everything known about the Grimm until now into question.

I kinda want to see Whitley summon the hound. Why else would it have been him and his mom that killed it? What do you guys think?

I wouldn't expect Whitley to ever be brought up again, same as the White Fang subplot. His arc is done and he's not needed. At most we'll get snippets of Winter since she's the maiden, but given that the relic tied to her is already in Salem's hands, even Winter isn't likely to get any decent screentime moving forward. Especially if the show spends the entirety of next arc on the Destiny Islands ripoff.
@@ShadowSaberBaroxio I really hope that's not the case because then why did the Hound even exist? And why was it killed by a spoiled teenager and his alcoholic mother while the Huntresses just stood still watching it.
All it did was confirm the fan-theory that Salem was turning Silver eyed people into grimm. Beyond that' you could just replace it with one of those flying monkeys Salem made and nothing would change.

Lets be honest, we all hated Whitley until Mama Schnee dropped the bomb that Weiss and Winter abandoned him with his absent alcoholic mother and emotionally abusive prick of a father. Of course he hated his sisters, they left him in that house despite knowing first hand what kind of hell it was.
As someone who is the middle child between 2 sisters, i ain't a fan of how they treat whitely here. Like, the boi literally asked to see if he could help despite knowing the danger they're in and the mf got grounded by a sister who left him alone with the aforementioned parents

Yk I find it funny that Whitley's a brat for the same reason Weiss used to be a brat in vol 1, but she doesn't seem to understand that. Like they both have the same parents, treated the same and he was left behind with them with no one by his side, unlike Weiss and Winter- like you'd think they'd understand
Yeah, but Weiss got over her volume 1 self basically instantly, which already wasn't strong writing back in the day. So you know the writers have no idea how to handle that plot point.

@@codex3259 I'd give you that, if we weren't shown Weiss being cold and dismissive towards Whitley even before the war started. This isn't a "no time for feelings, time for fighting" scenario. This is a "We want Weiss to dislike her brother because he's more like their father... What's this...? A reason why he's acting like this?"

@@GhalanSmokeScale to be fair, she didn’t exactly get many moments with Whitley until V8. In V7 he was a minor inconvenience at best, and in V4 he was forgettable as shit. Still, Whitley def deserved a talk with winter and Weiss.
Yeah, Weiss pointing her weapon at him was actually probably one of her lowest moments in the series, and some chucklefucks thought it was empowering for her. I guess it was, but not in a good way

Whitley is what his father could have been, possibly what Nicolas hoped Jacque would become. He has his father's intelligence, cunning, and charisma, (like him or not, Jacque knows how to work a room), but he has his mother's side's compassion, heart, and moral compass. If the SDC comes back from all this, I honestly think he should run it. He's got the best head for business of all the siblings, and we know he won't cut them out now, so he could run the company while they are out saving the world.

Really interested on Whitley's and Winter's relationship in V10.
You know… given the fact that Winter alludes to the Snow Queen herself, Whitley being Kai from the Snow Queen fairytale should have been obvious. Especially given how smart and intellectual he is just like Kai himself was. But since Jacques alludes to both the Evil Queen and Jack Frost (the Santa Clause 3 version, not folklore; change my mind), who in the heck is the mirror and poison apple?

Oh god if the time jump theory turns out to be correct then we could see a 18 year old Whitley who’s unlocked his semblance/the ability to summon he’d have the hound & what other Grimm he’s killed along the way

Imagine what would have happened if Weiss had brought her brother along with her to Beacon. Maybe made a special request of Ozpin, explained what their parents are like or something.
I'm guessing he would've become friends with Jaune, and they would've helped each other get stronger. Maybe he'd even help Jaune and Pyrrha hook up.
If Klein Sieben was played by Robin Williams in a live-action adaptation of RWBY, that would be perfect casting. Prove me wrong.

considering the sheer amount of training weiss went trough to summon the knight and use her semblance, while whitley probably hasn't unlocked aura, itll be a long while.
Honestly this just reminded me that Willow killed a Boarbatusk at some point in order to be able to summon it
And whitley, if he ever gets his aura unlocked, could summon the hound
