Thank you for your beautiful reaction. I love this trio. This was a very special event. Igor's birthday celebration in Russia. Igor loves ice skating, so of course, he gathered all his favorite singers and ice skaters for this event. Yes, if Igor is at the piano, he composed the music, and it is such a masterpiece. So smooth and warm and lovely to the ears to hear it. Sung by 3 of the best voices in the world. Total happiness to hear it. Dimash also did a duet of "Ulyss" with Aida (opera soprano) in this same event. Thank you for your prayers for all of us. I pray for you as well to stay safe and be healthy and may God bless you with best of everything. 🥰

Hola Paul 😊 cuando me entere de que Dimash habia cantado con Lara,madre mia me senti tan feliz por el🤗, por que se que es un gran admirador de Lara Fabian y verlos cantar juntos esta preciosa canción me hizo muy feliz, es increible, nunca en mi vida un cantante habia consegido que me sintiera feliz por verlo feliz, no se si me esplico, cantar con Lara era un sueño para Dimash y verlo a el feliz cumpliendo uno de sus sueños a mi me hace feliz🤗. The reason that Aida's voice is subtly more 'cutting' is because she is a true opera singer and they are trained to sing without a microphone and still be able to reach the back rows of the opera house. So they use a special resonance technique to be able to do that. Lara does not use that, and Dimash does not either. They are all perfect for the type of music they sing, but hearing them together is simply wonderful. And the skating was so beautiful. Watching this performance always leaves me with a little lump in my throat. Two other beautiful songs from this concert are Passione (Dimash) and Ulysses (Dimash and Aida). Both are marvellous.

👉 With this last song in this breathtaking concert (You should watch it), Dimash follows in the footsteps of the world famous opera singer (baritone) Dmitri Hvorostovsky (*1962 in Krasnoyarsk; †2017 in London), who has often sung this song by maestro Krutoy in previous performances.
The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria).
The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true.
The ice dancers are Olympic champions and world champions from Russia.
This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy (composer at the piano) in 2019. Can there be a nicer birthday?
* Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Krutoy wrote of what working with Dimash meant to him: “How lucky it is to be doing what you love to do, writing for such a brilliantly feeling singer, evoking deep emotion in the audience and being in demand'.
So far, Igor has composed several songs for Dimash and many songs in 30 years for Lara Fabian and other singers. Most of the songs in this concert were by him.
By the way, all Dears should also subscribe to Igor's channel. He deserves it and also flowers from the Russian Dears.
* Lilia Vinogradova wrote the grandiose lyrics and is known as a permanent co-author of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom has created wonderful works in the crossover genre. They created the cycle for Hvorostovsky, albums for Sumi Jo, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Aivazov, Lara Fabian and others.
When she asked why she did it in Italian, the poet replied: “First, Italian is by definition the international language of music, the language that allows the vocalist to open up as much as possible. This is the best language for singing...
And secondly, I. Y. Krutoy and me have a well-established tradition of writing most of our works in Italian when creating in the crossover genre.”

You will enjoy Dimash and Aida singing Ulysse at the same program, also written by Igor and based on the story of Ulysses. This was actually Igor’s birthday celebration concert with singers who have worked with him performing songs he has written. Andrea Bocelli also performed. I have to say most people do not realize how huge Igor is in Russia, as a composer, producer, and performer. It is amusing to hear early reactors refer to him as Dimash’s piano player when he is a billionaire many, many times over and he certainly did not need to come out of retirement in order to work with Dimash…except that he recognized his extraordinary, otherworldly talent and that he would be able to write songs for him using the entire piano that no one else could sing.
Igor was never retired! He was the one who organized the NW all these years, including the one he invited Dimash to participate in, and many other events, and he never stopped doing that or working in general. Dimash just gave him inspiration to compose, but he was never ever retired or semi retired and he still keeps on working with different musicians and artists and singers to this day. That's important to be accurate.

You pronounced Aida's last name correctly and I agree with you on the comparison between Aida and Lara's voices. Igor was so happy because he has composed a lot of songs for Lara and Dimash throughout his career as a great composer and especially because this concert was a tribute to him (Igor) for his prestigious work composing music for many years. This kind of music give us peace, as you said. Lara and Dimash, in my opinion, are the most versatile singer on our time 👏👏. Greetings one more day, see you tomorrow. 👋

To me Aida has an unusually velvety smooth voice. Maybe your impression of sharpness comes from the fact that she is a professional opera soprano, so her voice has this opera singer tone. By contrast, Lara has more of a pop/musical theatre tone, although her voice is pretty too. Quite obviously I'd choose Dimash´s voice over any other...

Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event:
• Igor Krutoy, the pianist, is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed. Igor is considered as the godfather of the russian music scene, a bigger equivalent for Russia of David Foster for North America.
• This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years, they co-created many songs together and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with”
• This also explains why the song does not expose more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton.
• Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable
• Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently.
• It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara (he is a fan since he is a child and he covered several of her songs such as Adagio, Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, … / she influenced him a lot on the way he performs and builds his songs) : look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it …
• Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 7 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man
• Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara
• Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀
• I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons on a daily basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.
• Final note to say that Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics of the song Your Love for Dimash

There is a story going around that Aida, a soprano with the Vienna opera, had to leave the stage during rehearsal for a bit and told Lara, “If I’m not back in time. Dimash can sing my part.” I have come to love this performance. All three have gorgeous voices and have worked previously with Igor.

Great reaction, as always. Lara is Dimash’s vocal crush, so he was super happy to meet with her. I believe she was a bit sick at the time. There’s another request on your list (Ulysses) where Dimash does a duet with Aida. They only had one rehearsal.
Finally, one thing that I really love about Dimash is that he’s not trying to “oversing” people he’s singing with. Theoretically, he COULD do all voices by himself, but he’s so humble:)

Because Andrew Bocelli also appeared at this concert, I think this is the occasion where Dimash met Andrew backstage. They end up chatting and Andrew plays the piano and gets Dimash to sing for him. It is so random. There is dog running around. Dimash doesn’t know all the words and feels nervous in front of Andrew. It’s all on you tube. It might be fun for you to check it out.

Aida es una de las más asombrosas sopranos en la actualidad. No nació en Rusia, pero hizo mucha parte de sus estudios musicales y ha trabajado duro para perfeccionar su técnica en ese país, en donde Igor la tomó bajó su mecenazgo. Sólo puedo describirla como "absoluta belleza"
Your pronunciation of Aida's name is very close to what it really is; hard to notice much difference; She is with the Vienna opera. This was a wonderful song to react to, one of my favorities, the music combined with ice skating and 3 talented singers with great harmonies is well worth listening to.
