  • Breathe in the wonders of the autumn and winter wader spectacular with actor and RSPB ambassador Samuel West at RSPB Snettisham nature reserve. You’ll see vistas of Knot, Oystercatcher, a Peregrine Falcon, and, to quote Samuel, “Be drawn into worlds that aren’t human.”
Please note that these wader spectacles happen only at certain times of the year and vary depending on the tide. For more information about RSPB Snettisham, please visit www.rspb.org.uk/snettisham

Samuel West made some very thoughtful insights into our place as humans among all of the wonderful creatures of this wonderful planet . That should be preserved and nurtured as we should all live alongside in harmony . 🐦

Thank you, Sam. It's very important that high profile people such as yourself give importance to these matters.

I've enjoyed this six times this evening, each time seeing something different and amazing. Your wonder and enthusiasm are delightful to behold. The knots are simply astonishing. That half of all bird species are in decline is something I knew, but I really felt the loss watching tonight.

This is the first time I've seen birds other than starlings moving in waves back & forth, spectacular. I agree with you Sam but so much needs to change to ensure a future for the planet & all inhabitants & I see very little in the way of that happening quickly enough.

Absolutely stunning, what a treat to see, I learnt quite a bit watching this video. Thank you both and I will continue to be a Member or the great organisation, the RSPB.

Fantastic birds and yes, of course we don't own the planet. Are we looking after it well enough?

Lovely words and exceptional filming! Oystercatchers and Lapwings are two of my favourites. I'd like to believe that even those who are disconnected from nature will be moved by this and perhaps it might encourage them to explore the natural world a little more. Thank you so much

So true Sam, Nature is the great reset point, reboot for an exhausted brain. We MUST care for it for future generations.

The excitement when the Peregrine turned up and the acceleration on him was incredible. I agree about his quote at the beginning sums up the effect of nature.

" We really are in this all together"...."To be drawn into worlds that aren't human" ....profound observations, that one would wish would resonate in our self (human)obsessed age.

Onwards, to Sam West's Wonders of Birding show ... Help inspire people to get out and get immersed in nature, indeed invaluable; and in turn support and help conservation efforts.

Also: there's some knockout footage here, inc the huge flock swirling above people watching.
