They should have NEVER HIRED HIM!
no more rookie coaches
Said this when it happened but pther fans wanted him over lue
I remember wondering what all the hooplah was about when we hired him. Everyone was singing his praises at the time. He always seemed Dopey to me. lol
No he was a good hire at the time but by all star break it should have been enough to make the switch to Phil Handy.
Facts lakers have done a horrible job over the years hiring the best candidate for head coach starting from allowing ty Lue to go elsewhere
His lack of creativity, rotations and timeout usage was just so frustrating.
You can't blame everything on Ham. He was only able to put the people on the floor that was available. Yes, he made some questionable coaching decisions. But that is what you get with a first-time head coach. Blame the owner for not getting a veteran coach.
@@erichughes8723 i always think the coach contributes to 5% of every game, which in this series means everything consider what Mike Malone was running
@briantep458 ok, I agree. To me, it's like saying the car I was driving killed those people. No, it was on me. The coach does not play, but he helps put people in a winning situation. I am a big Lakers fan, and we lost mainly because we had no real wing defenders and no real big to man the middle. AD needs to move back to the 4.
oh no we was def creatively bad.
@@erichughes8723a coaches job is to know his players strengths and weaknesses and knows how to put role players in a role to be effective. But Darvins rotations were always so different sometimes line ups that never played together would end up on the floor all together and they would look lost both on offense and defense and thats the coaches fault
Michael Malone saying the Lakers should keep Darvin Ham as the head coach so he can outsmart him next season again 😒
Definitely gaslighting us to not fire him lol not gonna work
That was insane😂😂😂😂😂

Ham was an energy player. He never used his head when he was a player. It’s the same thing as a coach. He is a rah rah motivational speaker. Not a tactician that can make pressure decisions with nuance during critical moments of a game.
All style and ZERO substance as a coach
Yup. Something Doc Rivers been getting away with since 2008.
Lol ham is a dollar store doc rivers and that is an awfully low bar lmaoooooooo😂😂🤣🤣
His motivation speeches are “cmon guys cmon guys, that’s a hell of a ball club over there”
THIS!!!
Rob should join Ham in unemployment.
Not resigning Caruso, Schroder, Lonnie, trading for Westbrook.
They want them. But the problem..cap space.
Not signing a backup big the summer after Jokic punished us inside to end our season is unforgivable. Clipping Vogel after one bad season was unforgivable. Dude won a chip, that was a bushleague move. Fire Jeanie, Rambis, and Rob 1st from their bball roles.
@@ShowtimeLakersbaby808how do you fire the owner? As fans we just have to ride the wave...but fire the owner? @@almalyndamaso4769Caruso didn't affect the cap. He even offered to sign for less money. The Lakers stupidly simply didn't want him.
Rob Pelinka needs to be on the hot seat as well. Bob Myers is gonna be a hot commodity if this roster doesn’t get the pieces needed.
Agree 💯
@@aliceharris5316Rob did absolutely nothing a trade deadline to make this team better. It was the same team that Denver swept last year you do know what they say about doing the same thing and expecting different results is called.
Please fire Darvin Ham and Rob Pelinka
Please fire Darvin Ham and Rob Pelinka
Watching Pelinka letting certain players walk was frustrating like Javele, Caruso, KCP, Andre Drummond, Malik Monk, although the money probably wasn’t there to retain Monk. Passing on Buddy Heild for Westbrook 🤦♂️
That 3rd Q stretch no timeout was abysmal. Let DEN go on the game turning run. He needs to go. But we go 10-35 from deep is unacceptable. Need far more consistency. This year is far more frustrating than last because the team was actually championship caliber. Lead DEN 75% the minutes. All the other teams who’ve done that have decisively won their series

why was spencer on the court?
Big mistake not investing consistent minutes into Max Christie! That kid put the work in and has the skill set we needed all season! Hopefully we don't lose him to another team.
Yup Max Christie 7 starts, 14.1 minutes per game. Cam Reddish 26 starts, 20.5 minutes per game. Wild.
Max Christie is trash lmao. More absolute delusional fake hype from lakers fans
I think Max wants to be a LAKER.. and is byding his time till his number is called .. I don't see him giving up his shot to a prince or a reddish.. I hope we can keep Reddish but Max is the better player
Yep, I really thought he would get some consistent minutes and be able to contribute in the playoffs.

What is annoying is that Spencer and Gabe were not producing anything in the series, and instead of putting Max to see if its better, he kept playing them

@@grapeape1965No he isn’t.
@@grapeape1965 right now gabe and spencer were.....not Max
Max should have gotten some time
Also cut into Austin’s minutes game 5 to get Dinwiddie more minutes
My biggest gripe with Ham is the complete disregard of Max Christie for minimum players like Reddish and Dinwiddie. Like dude these guys are minimum players for a reason.
Max was given the shortest leave of all players. Which is brutal because he's probably 1 of our top 3 defenders and rebounders. Definitely our best rebounding guard.
Not a big Max fan, but I agree with you. Max was finding his niche on the team. Whatever the team on the court needed at that time, he provided. Hit a 3, focus on rebounding, etc etc, Max was doing it.
Max simply isn’t as good as you lakers fans think he is bruh y’all been calling him the next Kobe since they drafted him 💀😭
I can undesrtand max because i know max will play good and we are trying to keep him which wont happen if some team offers him a bigger contract that the lakers wont be able to afford
And Christie didn't play for a reason, can't defend anyone. Staying in front of or running alongside opposing players while they take you to the hole is not good defense
We lost with an average of 2.2 points!!!! With a proper coach, we go to a 7 series and perhaps a win. This team need tweaks, not an overhal change in the players.
With a proper coach, the Lakers would have finished off the series last night and wait play the T-Wolves.
Ty Lue on his last year of his contract
Till this day, I’m still pissed that they decided to break the 2020 roster. They let Caruso go, Dwight and McGee were good for us at the center spot. Dwight would have been good at guarding Jokic because he’s big and can make him uncomfortable.
Dwight is 87 years old! 5555
Hey Ham, this is my friend Accountability…
Accountability, here’s Ham… I thought it was time you two finally met…
Accountability is waiting on his meeting with Lebron. Been on hold for 5 years
Facts over Feelings didn't last long with Ham did it?!? 😅🤣😂
Ok I’ll finally admit Darvin needs to be fired. Vanderbilt should’ve played, he should’ve used a timeout during Denver’s run in the 3rd, he should’ve also had a big sub in when AD had that shoulder injury last night instead of leaving Rui on Jokic. Made no sense. But we were still in it.
Vanderbilt is available in game 6
Wait you’re only realizing this now?
Bob Myers Lakers Nation is Calling
I'm actually happy our season is over.
Yep. We were a play-in team. We could dream of beating Denver but if we are honest, the old guard is done (KD, Steph and Bron). Time to look into the future and go the young route.
Same
Same, the season was so frustrating between fake injury reports, bad coaching, bad draft picks, trade deadline flop...
i wasnt even mad last night after we lost it was like a weight lifted off my back. the first Murray game winner in game 2 broke me. i was throwing stuff and punching the couch. this one was pure relief
A relief tbh lol. After all that fiasco involving DLo inconsistency, Reaves trade rumors, FO unwillingness to fire Ham and even signed a legit Big and trading for players to compliment Bron and AD. Grasping and crawling just to get into the play in spot.
Don't care what it costs, FIRE HAM
Good Riddance
He was not the right coach for the lakers 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Definitely best for The Lakers & Ham to part ways.
Ham was constantly out coached down the stretch, utilized timeouts very poorly, and had many questionable rotations.
With that said, Rob Pelinka has a LOT to answer for. Don’t know why he gets a pass
This is why i watch you channel you say it like it is and on point
I agree with you. I don't think they should have hired him in the first place. What is an assistant coach doing coaching the Lakers. I mean it sounds strange to me. They also didn't address the things they needed like a back up big man. We all as fans were shouting it from the rooftops. And Giles and Hayes were not even close to what we needed.
Pelinka did his job these past two years. He built a respectable roster that had solid potential and enough firepower to lead the Nuggets for 2/3 of the series or whatever that graphic ended up being. If he was going to be fired, it should have been in 2022.
I have no issue with the Lakers firing him because I think he's pretty mid as an executive, but it won't be because he "has a LOT to answer for".

@@gr00v3gaming9 I been a lakers fans before Lebron got there and l’ll still be a lakers fan after he leaves. So idk what you talking about lil bro
It’s the fact that Ham never learns from his mistakes. We talked about the problems with his lineups and timeouts all season long. All. Season. Long. And yet he still found a way to make them problems in this series. Game 2 they blow a 20 point lead because Ham runs out a lineup with Dinwiddie and Hayes. Game 5 he gives Dinwiddie 14 minutes and Reaves only 34. Lakers had a lead in game 5, Nuggets start going on a run, Ham doesn’t call a timeout until after the Nuggets take the lead. I can live with a coach making mistakes but if they keep repeating those mistakes they gotta go.
RAISE THE BANNER
DARVIN HAM FIRED 2024
To be fair at the beginning of the season when Austin was struggling we all thought he would be better coming off the bench.
You're absolutely correct about this. Many fans were calling for him to go to the bench and when ham did that they were happy
Now many of those fans are crapping on him for doing just that.
There's plenty of things to dislike about his coaching but some people just want to hate and it doesn't even matter if that hate is consistent
You're right. AR actually played just as well off the bench too. Also, it solved some of the defensive problems with having DLo and AR both on the floor at the same time.
He was. I don't believe many comprehend how bad the others were. Hams "rotation struggles" were about imagining anybody who didn't get minutes would have been a solution no matter how badly they performed when they were in the rotation. Finally Ham settled on two guards who play no defense but couldn't generate consistent offense game in and out.
@@Kenjay55
You're correct too about fans always thinking the solution is the guy who's not playing
Reeves ,needs to improve his defense
It just blows my mind why Ham would not call a timeout when the Nuggets were clearly on a momentum to catch the Lakers. Sure enough, MPJ made a 4 point play to tie the game. Why not call a timeout way before to interrupt the run? Even the announcers think Ham should call a timeout. Looking forward to him being gone.
It’s 11:30 AM and there has been no news of Darvin getting fired. Losing faith by the second.
Darvin Ham is the worst head coach in the NBA. He talked a good game to get hired but turned out to be incompetent on every level and never held himself accountable for mistakes. He must be fired. ASAP
I think it was unrealistic to think Ham was going to be “the guy” as a new head coach in this league. I think he’ll be a good coach one day, but he’s not ready for the Lakers job.
Good get someone who actually knows what’s going on
Rob pelinka and Dlo should be going with him.
Rui and the whole bench too
DLo yes. Rob can stay he makes move when needed be.
@@icecoldac3 Rob put this team together bro
Dlo has a player option it’s up to him if he stays or goes. But if he accepts the option he should absolutely be on the trading block. They would be better off with a player that’s less talented but more consistent.
@@icecoldac3one of the moves he made was to break up a team that had won a championship to add a point guard that bricks layups and dribbles the ball off his own feet
THE ATHLETIC JUST ETHERED HAM.
Idk why they fired Vogel at the first place. They blamed him for the Westbrook experiment
They fired him to appease westbrook.
His recent sweep in phx makes me a little leery though. Plus, The Lakers don’t tend to rehire coaches unless your last name is Jackson.
@@bkosha97 That is true, but you cant deny his first year with the Lakers though he did an amazing job. I think they should consider Mike Budenholzer and have Rondo in one of the coaching staff.
because in 2020, the team was coached by Voegel, Jason Kidd, and Rondo
In 2 series v Denver, players are shooting:
LBJ/AD: 56% Others: 42%.
LBJ/AD/AR: 55% Others 39%
LeBron/AD/AR are the only players above 50%.
Just 2024:
LBJ/AD: 60% Others 40%
LBJ/AD/AR: 57% Others 37%
He was never qualified to coach the lakers
It’s sad that we had to come to this point, with Lebron at age 39 there’s no time to loose.
Please hire Erik Spoelstra 🙏🏻
Keep dreaming, Spoelstra is not going anywhere.
Spoelstra and a good coach wouldn't be dumb enough to coach Lebron and end up as the next scapegoat. Trevor and all these CZcams coaches should apply
see, that's why I hold LeBron's fans in such disdain: stop wishing, and stop wishing for the impossible.
Why would Spo want to work for this clown show?
Greatest tragedy was wasting a season where both Lebron and AD were healthy. Didn't think we could lose when both were healthy... but Ham opened my eyes.
This year, Denver was totally beatable, even when the Lakers' role players didn't step up. I was saying last playoffs that the Lakers could've snagged a game or two, but the rotations were rubbish. Same story this year.😢
They can't guard anyone the Lakers need defensive players or two way players
How about his 3 guard rotation lineups ? End game situations ? Timeouts ? Who has he developed ? Knowing we were thin at center why not play Hayes and wood More with AD for playoff prep ? This man’s gotta go !! Don’t who we hire but Ham is cooked !!
And get rid of Spencer Dinwiddie !!!
Trorean laughing in his exit interview killed me
I like Taurean Prince hope he comes back next season
Great video Trev! Really great breakdown
You didn’t even mention that he didn’t play Max Christie, Lewis and Castleton at all. Pretty good defensive players and shooters.
If Darvin Ham is gone so should DLO quiting on the team during the team huddle on his cellphone. Also disappearing in the playoffs against the nuggets a second season.
Jennie Bust please don't let Rob Pelinka run this organization to the ground he's making your father's legacy look bad 😔 please open your eyes 👀
Once again, whole sale roster turnover, another new coach to blame, and another typical year in the LeBron Era of the Lakers. He will stay, he wants to retire as a Laker, which would guarantee mistakenly giving him a statue. Which, imo, should be with up shrugged shoulders, arms raised, palms up, berating a ref.
Ham got hired because he not going to give the front office no problems
I used to dream for times like this
Vogel DESERVED to be fired
BUT
I would not mind getting him back because he's the one coach I believe might actually demand the front office get him a true big/rebounder
Trevor did the exact same thing when he spoke on DLO last summer acting like we would be better off with him and we weren't. I don't care get Ham and DLO and a few others outta here. Pelinka can go to because outside of Max Christie the last 10 Laker draft picks have been trash. JHS was trash and we could have had Jaime Jaquez or GG Jackson but landed on this bum

I think Rob pelinka should have some blame too. Pelinka refused and i mean refused to bring in a center. We need size for Denver. Denver is agood team, but not unbeatable like the media is saying, but Ham is just not what we need.
Being an NBA head coach is hard. Being an NBA coach for LeCoach would be even harder.
fire pelinka too & GO GET BOB MYERS !
Going back to last year when the organization prepared Darvin to be successful at the trade deadline with outside shooting (Beasley) and big body relief (Bamba), he failed to correctly deploy them and made some messy and counterintuitive rotations. There was a late stretch when AD was recovering that Darvin just refuses to play a big with Bamba benched and continuously going with 3 guards. They were destroyed on the boards with Houston and Memphis.
This year, with the signing of Wood and the emergence of Christie from his summer displays, Darvin again failed to properly instill confidence in them by playing them in spotty situations. Overall his preference to cherry pick his previously coached players over the assets that were put in place for him to manage and succeed is the reason he is on his way out. Lakers should go back to the drawing board and think about going with an X & Os coach. Lakers have players that are smart and adaptive in LBJ, AD and Reaves. Additionally there are players that have specializations like Rui (shooting) and Vanderbilt/Vincent (defense). A coach with competent X & O skillsets will optimize and get the best of this team to perform at a high level, which Ham will never be able to if he is kept.

@@mostmost1Vando was injured. Reaves played 82 games, Dlo played 76 games, Rui played 68 games. I know Reaves struggled early but that happens with shooters, Ham should have stuck with him. bro plays his heart out at age 39 putting up an insane series number and regular season averages. he’s actually not the problem as much as he complains
Vogel was fired to appease Westbrick
Bron loves Vogel. Thats why Vogel received an extension in the Summer of 2021
Giannis received 3 coaches in a year and a half span. At least Lebron's own is last 6 years and 3 coaches. Luke Walton and Darvin Ham were not good decisions. Bringing in 2 rookie coaches was a poor decision. Vogel was a good hire and even as a Pacer fan for the last 2 decade, he did a very solid job as a Pacer coach. He is a defensive coach that needs defensive players to win. Management gave him Russell Westbrook and they thought that was a good idea to give a defensive coach not only someone that does not know how to shoot but misses defensive assignment on a consistent basis. With that being said, Vogel lost his job not because he couldn't coach, but his decision making with Westbrook being scared to bench him when he was costing you games and asking management if it was okay to bench him when you the head coach. Anytime head coach is asking management if it is okay bench a player that is costing you games means you don't know what your doing.
