- Hey there NaviUpgrade Family! I'm really excited to teach you guys the exact steps you need to follow in order to install the FMods Daemon Installer onto your Sync 3 system. Thanks to the team over at fmods.net, they have unlocked a whole new world of modification & bug fixes that we never thought we'd see on our vehicles.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video. You may be left with some questions about where to get the eMMC reader or how to know what Sync 3 APIMs an eMMC reader will take. Great video and tutorial, very well done. However, WAY more involved then I thought the process would be initially! Definitely going to be happy with what I have and focus both my time and funds on performance mods!
Haha for sure! Not for everyone. You can always ship me your APIM and I can do it for ya if you don't mind a few days of downtime without a Sync system!

Glad I haven't got sync3 now, this is one of those vids that would encourage me to break mine. 😂
It's not that hard and super hard to actually mess anything up. Obviously have to say these things because inevitably somebody will mess up a step or have a module that's already on its way out somehow die in the process haha. There are definitely some cool things you can do though!

Awesome video! I have purchased the same eMMC programmer as yourself. I am currently waiting for it to arrive. The only thing I don't know is if it will come already cabled up...if it doesn't, do you have a pinout?

Dude I want to Install Sync 3 in my truck, In a 2003 F-350 if you can bench it, Why can’t I put in in my 2016 F250 dash 🤷🏻♂️
Great Video... how did you make the bench tester, I'm the "IT guy" for my ford club and testing upgrades to sync would be tons faster on the bench & not in the car
Pretty much involves getting the communications module at the OBD port out of any 2013+ Ford, providing 12V power and then wiring up all the CAN the correct way. My Motorcraft Service license has lapsed unfortunately so I don't have access to diagrams anymore. I'll look into seeing if I can make one based off my setup.

Do you know where I could get a bench test setup for the 54 pin connector that goes to the whole module? I’d like to be able to run/test the unit not installed in the vehicle
I bought mine from a dealer on eBay a few years ago but I'm looking to try a couple new tactics with an Arduino Nano or a Smart DLC from a Explorer

darn.... I wish it was less involved. IDK why Sync 2 had the option for wallpapers but this doesn't.

How much to send in APIM and have this done? Super small town so it wouldn't be worth me buying the Emma reader 😞

BGood afternoon, I achieved step 1 and 2 but when I go to 3 I get this
Utserviceutility binary not found in your USB stick. Installation aborted
Please remove the USb stick to reboot the sync 3
How can i fix it
Sounds like you're missing the UTServiceUtility file... could have been flagged by antivirus when you downloaded it. You can get that file by following these directions: czcams.com/video/Dx8fM8UjFhU/video.html

seriously? You have to do all of that and buy that hardware in order to use any FMods?
idk if that's worth the trouble.
I mean, what are the chances of effing all of that up and you're left with a dead sync system?
Are there any fmods you can apply without doing all of this crap? Like simply plug in a usb drive into the vehicle's usb port?
I've done about 50 FMods hacks to APIMs that have come through my door and haven't bricked one yet... pretty much as long as you follow the video you're good. And yeah, the process is a bit of a pain, but I feel it's worth it. Can't do any FMods hacks without this process unless you get ahold of the toolkit that has a Ford copyright therefore can't be legally shared.
