One of the biggest difference between Bts and general Kpop is that they participate in the production and composition of every single song in their albums and solo projects. I think it's critical to know that if you would like to know Bts, because it's one of their most important identities

Jimin has an amazing voice - the reason why I became ARMY actually. It's just that being a performer is literally his life, so he tended to be too harsh on himself - but he tries to overcome it and has several songs that express it in which he talks to himself

Good to hear that even a non fan supports someone who wants to learn more about BTS. However, they're not girly. And if they are, absolutely nothing wrong with that either. They dress a certain way and wear makeup for their MVs, performances and many photo shoots. That's part of the kpop culture. Celebrities in other countries use makeup but it's not as much as in kpop. When BTS isn't performing, they don't wear makeup and often dress casually.

One thing I would like to propose - when you react to song, please, check out MV, lyrics and live performance in one video. The way you see the song change a little if you add meaning and visuals/choreography/outfits to it. Also, some songs have deeper meaning or some significance seen by Korean fans - there are explanation videos for them - I highly recommend it.
If you have time it would be amazing if you checked out more information about individual members or interactions between members - since they started as a group from really small company, they went through a lot of hardships together and you can see that the bond they share is very strong, like between close family members. As individuals they are so precious and it is worth to take time to get to know them.
Also, as you pointed out - all members work well as a group but have individual projects as well so you should check out their solo songs and sub-unit works as well (like, Vocal-Line, Rap-Line, SOPE-ME, dance line and so on..)
They have some reaction videos - often they check out their MV before their release or some of their performances to see what to improve/change. There are officially released Documentary Series about what is going on in the backstage during their tour. It is on more serious side.
About storyline - this one is complicated and you will have to dig really deep to find all clues (or you can start with video made by xCeleste where she summarized whole storyline and than see all parts of the story as you go through BTS videos - to be honest I started by myself, than watched explanation than went once again through original content - only than the story become more clear).

I'm in the same boat. I've only been ARMY for a little over a month. People are going to throw a ton of content at you (because, yup, there's a ton), but it seems like you might be a marathoner like me.
My first few weeks I just watched whatever came up, I was pretty lost, but really happy about it.
When you feel like really digging into their official content Rookie King and American Hustle Life were the first 2 variety/reality shows they made.
Rookie King came first and is mostly them just playing around having little competitions and bonding. The editors of the show really went to town on it, so, it feels way over the top to Western eyes, but, that's very BTS.
American Hustle Life was shot when they came to the States to learn more about the roots of Hip Hop from mentors like Coolio and Warren G. It's more like what you would expect from a reality show.
Also, don't forget to listen to their music. The MVs are great for reaction vids, but all of their songs are amazing. If you can't find an MV for something, there's probably a "color coded" lyrics video for it. I think those are great for baby ARMYs and reactors because they help you learn to distinguish each member's voice and usually have English lyrics translations. Their music can be appreciated on so many levels, from pure production, to the vocal, and rap flows, but their lyrics are a step above what most artists are doing these days. You'd really be missing out on some of the best parts if you didn't read the lyrics.
Anyway. I know I threw a lot at you. I just remember what it was like for me a few weeks ago and feeling excited/overwhelmed.
I'm going to watch the rest of your BTS vids, then I might have more recommendations. Also, if you're on Twitter, I'm going to follow and hype your channel, because that's how much I love ARMY.

I've been a ARMY since their debuet and let me tell you, you will never not have content to react to. They drop videos on Bangtan TV(their CZcams channel) every single day as well as live performances vlogs, dance practices, and more. As well as solo songs for each member from time to time.
That's what I felt when 1st time knew them 2017. And I couldn't go back but love them even more and more....
I just love their music so much, their lyrics, and they always give it their all in addition to being mega talented. The huge plus about BTS for me I came to realize after becoming a fan is that they are good people who are sincere and stand for something. They love each other and are like family.
