Devang Thapliyal is one of the best travelers, an adventurer, biker, and a Himalayan Rescuer in India. He continues to tour around the country and at the age of 27, Devang is a man with many wild experiences.
We spoke about the UNEXPLORED stories of the Wild like never before. Devang has previously faced a life-and-death situation with one of the wildest animals present in the Himalayas - the Snow Leopard. More of this story is also explained on our Hindi podcast with Devang Thapliyal - The Ranveer Show हिन्दी 33, one of the most loved pieces on that channel.
Being a Himalayan expert and rescuer, Devang has had the immense experience of mindsets, perspectives, travel, the environment, the wildlife and so much more. In this particular episode, we deep down on a few of the most memorable stories that he has experienced as a Himalayan Adventurer. We speak about meeting Himalayan Masters, Wild Encounters, Evidence of the Yeti, the survival at the top of the mountains, and more.

After listening to this, I don’t want science to get closer to Himalayas. I just want us humans to let Himalayas just let it be. Unexplored and magical. I guess that’s the least we can do to protect it.

Quite in consonance with what S.N. Balagangadhara wrote of our epics, too. We need not test them before the bar of empirical veracity, else, we risk destroying a mode of transmission of knowledge vital to our culture. It does not matter, for instance, if events of the Ramayana indeed occurred, and we must not even hunt for evidence that it did. There is no need to laicize them.
Let the sanctitude of the Himalayas not be eroded. We may explore, for the purpose of science, but not abuse the region.

I want to dig Himalayas and create dams and other constructions right there... what's wrong girl?? I can't understand it. Just leave some areas reserved for animals. If you don't disturb the ecology of some area some other animals or nature itself will disturb the ecology in time. So it's not a big issue as people think too much about it.

Devang is the first person who pronounced 'yeti' as 'यती' ! यती was elder brother of king yayati (ययाती) who gave up his life of prince and turned into a sage in Himalayaa. When he once returned to the kingdom he had very long hair and beard which ran till his feet which made him look as if his entire body was covered with grey hair. After that one visit to his kingdom he went back to Himalayas and never returned. If I remember correctly it is also said the he is immortal like ashwathama. I always keep wondering if the lore of yeti started with prince यती and continues to do so even today.

Please be assured, there are many of my generation who equally love and respect the earth, just as there are many of the younger generation who are lacking in that consciousness and whose god is money. The overwhelming energy and detachment and satisfaction feel which he spoke about, I could agree to it 100cent. Man I swear I literally felt the same and it was so overwhelming, tears were just rolling out of my eyes and there was that feeling where some great satisfaction on life, livin beings and perceptives etc when I was trekking for Kedarnath at night last year. That was the greatest joy and energy felt in my 25 years. I really get goosebums when I think about that even now. Heart was so open, thoughts were so pure without any corrupted ideas, just clear and pure joyful feel. Ahhh ❤️❤️
    Love for Himalayas❤️.

Just love love listening to all the mythological / spiritual stories & about supernatural beings..In this day & age, with all the growing influence of rational scientific views of the world. You hardly come across people who are interested in learning or understanding the symbolism behind our Indian mythology 😑 so Thank you very much for coming up with such topics. The buddy culture of camping reminds me of this time when I was camping in somewhat a sanctuary on my way to a pass above, till then at all the camps we were asked to follow the buddy culture but this was the first time when we were strictly asked not to leave the camps at night no matter what because of the high probability of spotting a bear or a leopard.
