Hello. My family member was recently diagnosed with MAC. I was wondering if there has been any treatment or information that has really helped your mother? We could use anything we can get. Thank you!

I have a flutter valve in every room of her house so she uses it diligently , huff coughs and aggressive pulmonary toilet (chest persuasion) to help clear the secretions. Lots of water, too.

I ordered the Aerobika glitter valve on eBay because I can wash them and they’re 1/2! the price.

I have MAC and I couldn't tolerate the rifampin, Arycase or wthambutol because it was affectingy vision. The only one I could take was azithromycin. She said the next step is the Infectious disease doctor for IV antibiotics.

I've always been very healthy. My parents lived into their mid 90's. I'm Having a very hard time dealing with this prognosis. Although this conference had it's few interesting points I heard nothing very optimistic.

I was always healthy as well ... until I ingested Levaquin (and 4 pills of Avelox) Fluoroquinolones. Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Floxin ... these are poison and start the downward spiral ...

Now I can see exactly how my bronchiectisis evolved. One antibiotic after another 4x along with steroids. And now I'm suffering from this horrible disease that can't be treated.

I think it probably started from a lung infection most likely from my nighttime mouth retainer that I was careless about cleaning. Who knew??

Were any of your "Antibiotics" of the FLUOROQUINOLONE Class?? These would include Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox and Floxin (some others) ... the bad news is that
ALL FLUOROQUINOLONES (toxic by themselves) ARE CONTRAINDICATED W/ STEROIDS.

@@marilynbarker8255 Did you EVER in the past take Fluoroquinolones?? Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Floxin ...?? I'm holding these poisons (antibiotics that damage DNA) SUSPECT!! Search "FLUOROQUINOLONE TOXICITY".
