If you guys have been watching elevator videos for a long time, especially from the likes of Dieselducy and Suzzex, you should recognize these elevators!
At the end of last month, I went on a trip to Washington D.C. (as well as Baltimore) for a few days, and to kick off my videos from the trip, I figured we'd do so with what are probably the most overfilmed and well known elevators in the city! (Don't worry, I still have MANY videos left to upload from both Seattle and Portland as well as a few from Canada last year and a few local to my area)
These elevators as well as the Hotel that houses them are VERY VERY NICE and it's definitely not everyday you see a Schindler ID! As a matter of fact, this is only the 2nd one I've been on!
For those about to correct me in the comments, contrary to what other users say, these are NOT Miconic 10! Miconic 10 was Schindler's 1st Generation Destination Dispatch system which was manufactured from 1993-2007 (2002-2007 in the US), and the only known installs of such systems are the Marriott Marquis NYC, The Wells Fargo Center in Portland, and the Bank of America Tower in Fort Lauderdale. ID, on the other hand was Schindler's 2nd Gen DD system, manufactured from 2008-2011, prior to PORT coming out, and while these do use physical keypads like Miconic 10, Controller wise and voice wise, these have WAY more in common with PORT!
As for these specific Schindler ID's, these were originally SchindlerHaughtons, and as of today, these modernized elevators are holding up alright, the Newly Renovated cabs are VERY NICE and these are a TON of fun to ride! However, some of the voices and chimes on some of the elevators in the bank are broken, and they don't exactly run the greatest.
I wouldn't be surprised if these elevators end up getting a 2nd mod/overlay with PORT within the coming years, but as they currently stand, they get the job done, they're a TON of fun, they aren't glitchy like ACTUAL Miconic 10s, and combined with the rarity of Schindler ID, all in all, these are VERY NICE Elevators and I'd definitely tell you that you're missing out if you skip this place during a visit to DC!
With that said, I hope you enjoy the video, and let me know what you guys think of these in the comments below!
Installed in 1984. (SchindlerHaughton with L Series fixtures)
Modernized sometime within 2008-2011. (Schindler with ID Destination Dispatch, New Cabs, New Controllers, New Lanterns, etc. Only the doors and possibly the motors left original.)

I recently filmed and uploaded a hotel tour of the Jw Marriott in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They had much less fun elevators, they didn’t have the keypad that I love, like this one does. The ones there had a fun felt wall on the back, it was fun using the keycard or just my fingernails to draw things haha.

Out of curiosity, did you visit the Ring Building? They formerly had Otis Signal Control passenger elevators, but sadly they have been modernized (unless there's an original service car???)

Hi, what is the earliest destination dispatch system made by Schindler in the US?
Also, why do you have two different time frames for Miconic 10 that kind of overlap with each other. Could you explain that a little bit please?

Schindler Miconic 10 was the first DD system both Internationally and in the US and from what I can find online, the first installation done period was done in 1993 somewhere overseas. They didn't come into the US until either the Late 90s or early 2000s however, with the earliest confirmed known American installation having been done in 2002.

@@FloridianElevators interesting. Also, what about the two timeframe is for the system? Was that a Miss type or was that done on purpose? Edit: I figured it out. My screen reader wasn’t reading punctuation, so that’s why I didn’t understand why there were two different time frames in the description.
