  • This month, Eddie speaks about some of the defiant Irish women in Irish folklore. He tells of Máire Rua McMahon from Co. Clare, and her trials and tribulations with her various husband. Eddie also tells the tale of the boy who pulled the wrong stone from a castle wall, and felt the strike of the Cailleach.

    I'm really enjoying this CZcams channel, I'm from Kentucky, I absolutely see the line of Celtic oral tradition connecting the Appalachian mountains and Ireland and Scotland; from that matter Wales too (lot of Welsh immigrant miners in the early of the 20th century). still I think you'd be surprised how many similar type stories there are still , starting to die off, in Kentucky.
    PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
    PS please more stories about the fairies, fairy stories are way better than ghost stories.

      She's probably Irish or Irish-American, but I can as well, having spent half a year in Gaillimh 35 years ago..
      Love his "accent" as well as the folklore!

      A women that takes care of her husband and children is the woman to admire.

      @@wolfthequarrelsome504 well, just like men I suppose, women who are aggressive for no good reason aren't particularly admirable, but women who can stand up for themselves when they need to are.

    You need to relax with all the adds, we know they make you money but this is far too much
