  • Toitū Te Whenua - A documentary exploring the Bay of Plenty & Lakes District; the abundance, natural character and the many pressures and challenges our natural environment and people are faced with.
The state of our forest remnants, lakes, rivers and estuaries tell us stories and lend clues to what needs our attention. The film explores the impacts industrial land-use and poor rules and regulations are having on our environment and human health.
Environmental advocate Geoff Reid talks with kaumatua and industry leaders about the urgent need for changes to safeguard living systems and human health.

Thoughtful and very well presented. As the documentary points out, most people have no idea of the degredation that is happening in the natural world on our doorstep. DOC really needs a big shake up and regional councils and some of the government departments need to be made accountable.

Incredible cinematography and phonomenol editing Geoff and Tim. Helping cement the pertinent message that our industrial capitalist ideology is doing irreparable harm to our beautiful and unique ecosystems. What can you do right now? SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!!

Bro, of course I support your mahi and we know the depths of damage here and around the motu...but can I just take a moment to say that production values on this are stellar. Grant's animations, the sound, your incredibly stable flights...it all boosts the message sharply. Here's to more of these collabs, let me know when you want to take the team out to sea.

About time we start seeing some accountability! Too many big players with conflicts of interest here, and all at the expense of papatūānuku. Time to stop selfishly exploiting the whenua for the trivial man made invention (money), and let her heal before we collectively loose everything. Ka Ora te Whenua, Ka Ora te Tangata!

Mother Nature will always prevail. Stupid humans will continue to shit in our own nest and destroy the very ecosystem that keeps us alive. 😔
