Since she mentioned that she had called ahead to get permission to film a maid, they may have made sure that one of the more experienced maids who knows how to let go of the anxiety was taking care of her.

You really make that look fun. Most American servers really hate having to go sing happy birthday or something like that to customers. But I loved going to Farrell's Ice Cream in California. The entire wait staff had to love dancing and singing and were required to audition. They weren't just food servers, they were entertainers and loved performing. I got that impression from your maid hostess.

Ik there are a lot of anxious introverts like me saying "oh I could never go to one of these" but honestly I'd leave all my anxiety behind if I went to a maid cafe because these women are so incredibly sweet and hard-working, and I would hope we could kind of make each other's day brighter in a way because the whole experience seems so nice (and of course adorable)!
I was in Akihabara during a study abroad trip last summer and I wish I could have gone to a maid cafe but I just sorta went with what my group was doing instead of visiting one :< I hope I can go again and try it!

@Ken narville And a darn good one, too. Based on what I've seen in interviews and such, she is legitimately passionate about her work. Hitomi's not just some maid. She actually runs that place. She's the cafe's President and she's also the Chief Business Officer of the company that runs the establishment and its various operations. She's also an official Akihabara Goodwill Ambassador who's traveled to different countries to raise awareness for Maid Culture.
It's my dream to go to a Japanese Maid Cafe.

The atmosphere for a Maid Cafe is similar to our US restaurants doing something special for my Birthday, but the Maid Cafes do this all the time and do allot more. Pretty cool, and dont know if I will ever get to go to one. Thanks for the video.

Maid cafes are good fun for kids and anyone of any age really if you like cuteness. I work as a butler for a maid cafe in the US for anime conventions. Its very fun for everyone. I have had guests of all ages from elderly to children, to single people to families. Nothing preverted in the least its why they have the no recording rules unless you get permission to turn away the few potential pervs. But of course you can take polariod pictures with them for a fee and buy keepsakes. I will warn you its quite pricey but well worth going at least once to know what its like and if you'd maybe go again someday. Like Disneyland pretty much but interactive lol.

Last year I went to Japan for a few weeks, and went to the Maiddreamin Cafe in Tokyo, the environment was very pleasant and everything was just soo damn cute! I’m from the USA, so it was quite a change from what I’m used to. Totally enjoyed it and would like to go again!
