The proximity sensor is silly and annoying. A simple front touch switch would have been much better. The end of the balcony also requires some support towards the front of the nook and it really needs a dust shield. It does look great but I have had to deal with these issues.

How did you install the battery behind? You are not showing it in your video. The battery has cables that are attached to the sensor. Did you have to disconnect the cable? If so, how?
You must connect the positive and negative terminals of the lamp's wires to the wires of the battery box. Connecting the positive and negative copper wires will make the lamp light up. Hope this resolves your issue.
I will never order or give a good report for book nook. I bough and put together the Rainbow Lane and they left out a few instruction and never sent the batteries I have sent 3 e-mails and no response. I need to know the size of batteries

some of the transparent stickers are used to hold the light wires down or "lamp wires" (as the manual specifies)

The batteries I used was two batteries AA.
You don't get the batteries with it, you have to buy your own. It's because some postal services and customs will not allow the shipment of batteries.
No where in the booklet does it tell you the battery size.
Take the battery case to a shop. Mine took AA batteries.
Batteries are seldom included
