What an awesome video... I am replacing old alarm that has failed with the Avital 5303L. Your lay out and description of all the wire was a perfect... I can now easily install this alarm! Going to add things like rear deforst and maybe to turn on heated seats. Thing to find tach signal on a diesel Excursion will be fun. Thanks for your help.

Thanks my good man. Installing this in a military surplus vehicle; M1078 LMTV. All wires are white in the vehicle. So, nice that you also put the probe and INNOVA items in the description. So helpful. Planning on adding power locks and power windows later... so this system was chosen.

Amazon has heat shrink connectors with soldier in the middle. Just heat it up and it soldiers the wiring together and seals it up. Great video

My 01 Camry was stolen a few weeks ago I had no alarm I got the vehicle back with a busted steering column and ignition switch , I didn’t imagine how easy it is to steal older vehicles. the only video I found on CZcams, explains very well how to mount Viper's system, thank you! BTW mine is the 5706V, I couldn't test full functions on a bench, it always gives a remote start error on the remote screen, I routed all other sense wires like the parking brake, brake shutdown, hood, and doors accordingly, and the tachometer wire is intended for" manual trans only", and their crappy documentation doesn't have any schematics, I like how you grouped the wires, good job!

@@Donnythelatemodeltechso the orange accessory input and the pink ignition inputs… do I just connect all 4 to the ignition wire in my jeep? And then remote start lines, one to ignition and one to starter?
Just want to thank you for the 5 wire walk through. The wire colors were exactly the same on my Fox Mustang and I never knew what a 451m was. I've been fighting with hooking up this cheapo keyless entry for years, seriously years. The only way I had it working was by disconnecting the connector to the passenger switch and that made the driver switch not work either but the keyless entry worked on the driver door only and I accepted that it's the best I could do. Watched your video ordered up a 451m and within 30 minutes everything is working the way it should. So grateful, thank you.

Amazing video! Very informative and nicely done job that you did I copied you and did it to my 96 f150 xlt power everything with factory keyless entry basically the same setup as the truck in the video. I have a small problem though of my door locks will lock with the switch but not the remote and I know in the video you said I need to reprogram that but everytime I try to it goes to garage mode but it did program the tach wire just fine and everything else works great so I thank you very much with that!

worked at best Buy for 15 years and in my time as a mobile tech with them, I have never used a tap connector on any alarm install. We were required to be MECP certified and we were told by the company to always follow best practice and were not allowed to use tap connectors on alarms. I saw a bunch of alarms installed at other places that used taps and we would fix them when they failed.

I remember when I use to do this for a living. I had my auxiliary outputs to turn on the stereo, neon lights, roll up and down my windows 😂😂
The dude you installed this for was no fun. lol Love having the horn hooked to the alarm, way more effective at attracting attention. DEI alarms by default only honk the horn on a full trigger. Warn and arm/disarm will just chirp. I actually turned the arm/disarm chirp off on mine, no reason to have it with a 2 way remote.

For my 1996 F-350 XLT Crew Cab Diesel. It's not installed as of yet due to me fearing screwing up something. I sure wish you could make another video showing how to hook this alarm up my truck. I have talked to professional installer and it's going to cost me around $275.00 to have them hook it up. Can you advise me on how to connect this to the diesel auto start? I'd sure like to be able to use all the features of this alarm system. Again, thanks for sharing this video, your real good at installing. Thumbs and you have a new subscriber.

I have 4 extra relays installed in 2001 for it. Do I still need those extra external relays or 5904v has its own relays inside in it? You doing excellent teaching. Regards 🙏
I installed viper alarm same way you did in video, battery keeps draining I have to keep remote starting truck every 2 days to keep battery dropping below 11.8v by 2nd day. Is there anyway to prevent the power draw from alarm system? I also installed the viper smart start which allows me to gps track, remote start, unlock and lock with phone. Installed both at same time, do you think it’s the viper smart start killing battery or the viper alarm. Also the viper alarm killed my coil twice. Day one of install and a few months later. Any thoughts on why it keeps killing coil?
This video helped me out a great deal installing a Viper 5906v in my 95 Ford truck. Thanks for posting it. Quick question, my o/d light flashes when I remote start it (e4od auto trans). Just wonder if the customer in this vid experiences the same thing or if there's a quick fix for it. Other than that and a few issues programming the remote start functions everything was fairly easy.

I bought the Avital 3100L model - very similar but without remote start. I also bought the Install Essentials 451M Door Lock Relay Module. When wiring the door lock relay I think I wired the relay incorrectly as the door motors kept triggering when it hit the unlock button on the remote until I unplugged the harness to stop it. Now I wired it correctly like how you showed and only the passenger side locks/unlocks. Any idea what could be the issue?

Just finished install on my 1992 F150 XLT.
The lock unlock wires on mine were reversed from video, used the 451m. Tach worked, didn't have to learn it. Also unlock was good.
Any info on changing crank length? Unable to find anything on it.

@donnythelatemodeltech hey I have the avital remote start that just does door locks and remote start (I use the truck release to my air horns lol) ,but I put this system in my 96 f150 5.0l V8 and I did step by step between 2 or 3 wire guides and my little issue is (sometimes) occasionally the starter wont disengage unless I either turn off the system or try again or dont try it again until another day and it works "ok"
my truck starts with the remote start but not with the key, what could be causing that?

Your Video was very good and explained with excellence. I just couldn't understand one thing. what is a "5 wire?" The part at the end of your video you were explaining. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 with remote entry. The Alarm that came with the truck (Lojack) was disarmed and doesn't alarm if you bump it, Only opens the door's with my remote. Could you explain more detail about 5 wire? Do i need to apply this for my ford for my door's?

@@Donnythelatemodeltech hey what up bud, i got a question, so i have the same alarm system the 5305l remote start 2 way alarm and i had got the alarm installed and not the remote start not just yet. but my alarm chirp wont chirp any more like it did at the beginning when i first install. the arm and disarm locks still function properly with the front/rear light as well. the chirp would not sound off when i arm/disarm it. i checked all the wires and are still intact. have any reason why it not working? appreciated brotha.

So I've got the remote start working perfectly I've used a 451 relay for the door locks spliced them in my unlock switch has always worked on my passenger side but neither switch on my driver works. I click the buttons on the remote and can hear the relay click but nothing happens would this be because my master switch is not working properly? The passenger door unlock still works spliced in the relay

Set this up on my 94 F150 and it worked great until about a month ago when I came out and the battery was dead. I bought a new battery, installed it and all was working until 3days ago when the truck is just locking the doors repeatedly and I cant get into the truck. Ideas on what is happening?

I have a question. I noticed when I remote start my 96 F150 that cluster and ABS module is not getting accessory power from the system. When I turn the key it comes on like normal. Just a little thing I noticed. Not really a big deal. Did this truck do the same thing? Or did I miss an accessory wire?

The only thing I’m still uncertain of is the key side car side terms still throws me off a bit when I cut the 12v constant the wire still attached towards the steering wheel is considered key side and the wire going away would be car side ?

Great video ! I’m attempting to instal the exact system on my 1994 ford f150 xlt . The issue I’m running into is the truck will no longer start . It cranks but won’t start. Can someone help ?
On my 92 f150 xlt I forgot to plug in the fuel selector switch back in. I could always hear the fuel pump come on after turning on the key so I remembered that I didnt plug it back in.

Great video! I'm adding the Avital 4003 add-on remote start to my OBS F150. I recently installed the 2101 standalone keyless entry, so I'm just adding remote start and no alarm. Question on the hood pin switch. If not using this function, do I just ground that wire? You added it to the "maybe later" harness, but I didn't know if it needed to be grounded for the remote start to operate. Thanks for this informative video!

Great Video!! Quick question. If the Brain have 2 wires for inputs for example, Dome Light Input (-) and Dome Light Input (+), you only need to use the one that applies to your vehicle? I also have the same situation with Trigger Starter Input and Door Trigger Input. I assume you just use the one most applicable to your vehicle.
