- “Soul Prayer” is the newest single from Snatam Kaur’s upcoming album release, Nirankaar. The track begins with a powerful invocation that is often used before Sikh prayers and worship. Exquisitely sung in English and Gurmukhi, its intention is to arrive at a place of true humility. The invocation is an opportunity to give oneself entirely to God, opening the door for the soul itself to pray and connect with the Divine.
The track then segues into “Ardaas Bha-ee”, a joyous mantra calling upon the saintly energies of Guru Amar Das and Guru Ram Das, the third and fourth Sikh Gurus, to allow the soul of the devotee to grow closer to the Divine - to be heard, and for its prayer to become manifest. Chanting “Ardaas Bha-ee” empowers practitioners to align with the pure energy of the soul’s prayer to the Divine, and to live by this vibration. The music for this track is a collaboration with Sukhmani who also provided percussion and vocals. It also features producer, Ram Dass on piano and vocals, and Grecco Buratto on guitar.

Snatam ~ Years ago, over 10, you played a live concert at a church in Chicago. A yogi friend of mine asked if I could donate time to help set up before your performance. I was happy to be around a community like this, so much beautiful light. Then someone from that community came and told me that you asked if I could stay to offer assistance during the show by offering your CD's during intermission and after the show. I asked if I could stay in the church to hear you sing in exchange and when the person came back with a YES response I was thrilled. I had not heard of you or your music, BUT I love music, and to hear someone new had me excited. I didn't know at the time how much this simple gift of experiencing you and your music would change my life. Without writing a novel here about my darkness and moving towards my light I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for your music for it has helped me change to become the person I want to be today and the person I want to be tomorrow. Your gift of song and music is so precious to me. Thank you.

Wow ! I missed the premiere, however, as I started listening to this song, it just soaked my soul with your sweet angelic voice Snatam. The videography is incredibly beautiful. The fact that you chose to bring nature and its beauty in the forefront and not feature yourself, talks volumes about you. ( though I was hoping to catch a tiny winy glimpse of you in the end, somewhere 😊). One can simply die of pure ecstasy, if we can see how beautiful the world has been made by the Universal Energy. Hola Snatam quiero decirte que acabo de darme cuenta que empecé a meditar con tus canciones mantras y lloraba mucho, era en un gimnasio, después me sentía muy bien, aunque no entendía por qué lloraba tanto ya que mí vida era perfecta, después he ido entendiendo eran tristeza no lloradas.
