Analog Dude am just downloading libreoffice as this video useless
Analog Dude itâs amazing thank you so much makes life easier lol
hey Analog Dude - definitely get your concern with privacy. Microsoft believes privacy is a human right and is adhering to the Dutch Government privacy regulations in addition to GDPR. In terms of updates, there's lots of new value constantly coming to Office. For instance, you now have the ability to collaborate in real-time, documents are auto-saved, PowerPoint has a new presentation coach that gives you feedback on your presentation delivery, Word has a resume assistant that helps you write a better resume, PowerPoint helps you design better slides with slide suggestions, etc. Lots of innovation to help make you more productive. Give the apps a shot to see if it changes your opinion. I think you'll find that the apps offer pretty good value. Happy to chat more with you. Cheers!

I use kingsoft/WPS, its free and it uses file types that are compatible, meaning, when you send a file to someone else, they will have no problem opening the file/viewing the file.
Is this free to people, because you have an online Microsoft account/the way Microsoft gets paid/compensated, is by tracking you/ creating an in depth profile, of what you buy online, where you go online/how you use your computer, what you type, and so on, in which they can sell that information, or create products that are marketed/created around the data they've collected from you/people?
I have a local account/I dont have an online microsoft account. I turned basically everything off, in the privacy settings, on my version of windows 10, I also have a firewall that runs along side windows firewall, that's specifically designed to prevent windows from doing questionable things, using bandwith, sending certain information back to certain servers, I also immunize my systems, with spybot, I also use a VPN, I also use things like HTTPS everywhere, that makes sure that every website visited has HTTPS to, I also use things like privacy badger/ghostery, SSL/SSHC, I've also disable allot of services as well, I also ripped out/deleted the diagtrack service along with dmwappushservice, just to list/go over a couple things I've done, security wise, it is getting bad, now that you have to protect, even more, against, your own OS/Operating System.
I dual boot windows 10 and Manjaro linux, but windows is still needed for allot of things/its still the most used OS, I like windows 10 as a whole, and after you put security measures in place, but out of the box/a fresh download of windows 10, is not great.
Good video though, for those that don't care about all of this, no offense/this is not meant to be a hateful comment, also I don't use adblockers on youtube, unless someone decides to put 10/30ads in a video. You explained everything perfectly/the video is good.
This is NOT getting Office, this is accessing it on -line!! Big difference.
Are you kidding me?! This gives you a pretty full featured experience for free and it's LEGAL! This has everything the average person would need. Even better, impoverished people just need a connection to the internet and they have capabilities they've never had before. But, sorry this impressive online service isn't good enough for you. Now people don't just expect stuff for free, they whine if they don't get everything. I have the full version of Office already and these capabilities are invaluable to me. Challenge: create the most ground breaking productivity software on the planet and then give it away for free. I hope you're a kid. That would be a good excuse. Full disclosure, I don't work for MS. I'm just a tech guy that finds this very useful.
@@jace024 He's just saying that the title is misleading and I do agree
The real difference is that you get to use all the functions of word and so on, which aren't available if you haven't activated the Offline version.
I was right then. I was wondering what I missed. I don't need Office but was interested in how to get something for nothing.
You could also get office by downloading the mobile versions of it.
you know, there is something to be said about the old days when this software was included in the purchase of your device and there was no additional cost.
why do you think microsoft is trading at astronomically high levels and trillion dollar company...because they figured out how to make money
I rather ms office to be excluded from my device price and use FOSS office suite. Good riddance
I thought I was going crazy when I tried to use office, then realized you HAVE TO BUY IT KNOW!!!. SUCKS how they take advantage of us.
@@Believer7154 They aren't "taking advantage of us". They are selling product, which they made. Why they should offer you something for free if they work hard to do it? Would you expect that baker would give you bread or cookies for free all the time, not only as gift on the opening week?
I 've used some of the Microsoft products since the first DOS product and experimented with the first published version of Windows. While I can't say that Microsoft has always provided the best value for me, its progress has been great, and this access to the app is very convenient....much more convenient and useful than a Chinese clone that I used for a while, and trades a couple of nuisances found in Libre Office for different ones in Office 365.
Thank you so much for the video, Kevin!
But I will prefer to buy a license for a lifetime this time for my office applications.
Is there any trustworthy website to get Office 2021 for cheap?

Is there anything you don't know in tech! Oh, come on! A legend in a lifetime!
The title of this video should be "How to USE online a downgraded version of Microsoft Office for Free in 2019"
If you want "How to Use the desktop fully-featured version of Microsoft Office in 2019" you'll need to go to Office.com and click on Get Office. You can then buy a subscription or purchase a one-time license. For using Office for free, this is the only legal option available. Hope that helps.
@@KevinStratvert
But the title of your video is:
"How to Get ...."
Not
"How to Use...."
â@@hsw268 in order to get people attention, you will have to clickbait
@@hsw268 This is getting pedantic. Get = succeed in attaining, achieving, or experiencing; obtain. This video qualifies under that definition in that you can experience Office. The main intent of this video is to show you how you can get / use Office for free. If you're looking for the desktop apps for free, if you're a student, you may qualify depending on whether your school has a contract with Microsoft. However, any other option is likely illegal / theft. Btw, even with the desktop software, the software is licensed, not sold. According to the terms "This agreement only gives you some rights to use the features included in the software edition you licensed." Hope that helps clarify.
@@KevinStratvert You know exactly what you were doing when you used "get" in your title. This is clickbait. The proper diction would be "use", and not "get". Getting means owning, which isn't the case in this particular instant.
Excellent tutorial - and a lifesaver! Weâve had to replace our desktop PC and have long since lost the code for the Office on our old computer. Now I know I can use the web version and wonât have to buy a new copy. Much obliged for this instruction.
Thanks for the information Kelvin! I desperately needed to update some content on a document I was working on. You literally saved a life !đ
Kevin, in case no one has ever told you, you are a great guy! I've been following you for a while and I'm not sure what you actually do at Microsoft but they are very lucky to have you.
yeah is ok to have a crush on Kevin ...đđ
im sure a million people have told him im another he is great guy
Misleading title. Should be renamed âHow to access office onlineâ or âGoogle Docs replacement using Microsoft Officeâ
God Bless you, Kevin! Thank you for uploading this and showing us this tutorial!
My OLD laptop recently did an update and screwed up whatever version of Office Starter I was using before and I could not get it back. I have been tracking my weight-loss as well as my money saving things on an Excel Sheet (I know there are specific apps and things for that, it's just nice to see it and update it daily on an Excel Sheet...and it has been working). I thought I had lost all my progress I have made so far this year and it was actually kind of upsetting me.
Thanks to this walkthrough, I was able to upload all my old files to office and pick up right where I left off!
Thanks again, fella, you are my Hero!!!
Thank you so very much! You are very detail and make this easier to understand to follow directions. You made my day! God bless you. SG

Thank u Kevin. I was having a hard time trying to get Microsoft office. U explained it so well, I followed what u said n got access to it hassle free. Thanks a lot for ur help. Appreciate it.
Well, just looking at the title, I thought Kevin is gonna become a full time CZcamsr and this is his last strike on Microsoft before he leaves...
I feel bad. but at least we all got Microsoft for free : )
Nonsense. This is stealth ad clickbait for MS: Kevin isn't giving anything away, you don't 'get' Office for free, you're getting to _use_ a more functional Office web app and a teaser for a fully paid or paying subscription for 365.
Nah this method is legit and microsoft allows this
haha
U saved my life man. The online method works for me and it's sad that many people misunderstood the purpose of this video... This video is supposed for people that have ended their subscription of their Microsoft office. By doing what this kind person showed us in this video, we can still use the Microsoft apps online even though our subscription has ended. And when the subscription ends, we are not supposed to be able to make any editing or amendments to the files that we have on our computer through offline. Hope this clears the misunderstanding by most viewers. Thank you so much for sharing this video Mr. Kevin â„
Thank you! These videos are fantastic! Please keep them coming!
Great job Kevin! You offered very clear and concise information. Thank you!
Awesome. Kevin. Thanks so much. I am a senior citizen who has recently acquired a laptop and I am learning so much from your videos. Thank you! My lockdown project is to learn how to use my laptop . Stay safe.
Well done Kevin ... thank you for sharing the information and knowledge!
Yeah, it is the online version rather than getting your own "copy", but I wouldn't have known about this otherwise and this could be very useful for me. Thank you!
Great information! I paid for and used Word for years on my Apple machine - until the last big Apple update and lost everything. This helps so much. Thank you. Worth subscribing.
I, too, have a paid license to Office, but it is on a slowly dying computer, a Lenovo that has a weak hinge design and frequently loses its fingerprint reader function for signing in. This utility allows me to procrastinate about the nuisance of formally transferring my license to my HP desktop.
@@cumolocerro I have a Lenovo too, and it also has a terrible hinge design.

Thank you so much, Kevin. I've been reluctantly subscribing to Office 360 for about a year now and I don't use it a lot but when I do I NEED it. Now I can save all that money and still use Microsoft Office when necessary.
I still end up subscribing to Office 365, partly for the apps but primarily for the 6TB OneDrive space that I can share with my family. It's actually a pretty affordable way to get lots of cloud storage to backup photos/videos. More value is constantly coming to the subscription, so it might make sense to hold on to see if there's enough value to justify the expense.
@@KevinStratvert Agree. Just can't afford it right now. But by May I can. The 6TB alone is worth the price. Plus, when I want to access it when there's no connection, I can continue on a project. Moreover, the constant add value is a good thing. So, thanks, Kevin. Appreciate your effort.
This was sooooo helpful!!! Thank you!!
This tutorial is amazing and you are really good at teaching !! great job sir !

I'm sure it's because he has multiple training logins. Otherwise it will automatically login to his primary account. It's just for the video. And, by the way, incognito mode doesn't mean there's something nefarious going on. I just doesn't pull in saved data. Haven't you ever used that when logging in to a public computer?? You should.

Kevin, thank you for all you do to make information available. I have a question. I have been using zoom and do not have an account. I speak around the country through zoom as the organization sends me a zoom link. I am on a fixed income and can not afford the $150 annual fee to have my own zoom account. Want to start hosting my own meetings to offer presentations. My question is this. I bought Office 2019 several years ago. Do I have to buy a subscription to use Microsoft teams to host my presentations or because I purchased Office 2019, is Microsoft teams free with unlimited use? Thank you for your time and kindness. Have a great day. Craig

Hey Kevin thatâs so helpful thank you! I have a bunch of documents saved on an external hard drive, I took those files from a different laptop, but when I plug the hard drive into my other laptop, the files are not opening in the same format: ie, an excel file is opening as xls? Thanks for this. This tutorial has been really helpful to me.
This is exactly what I need. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the intro. Iâll download this version to my Mac for some projects projected to happen while howâs during Covidus-19
As. An add-on, Iâm thoroughly disappointed with this system, especially for a MAC! It not only underperformed in PowerPoint, but had enough glitches and errors to never allow the transition to a âstickâ that I could use in various classroom situations. The functions in other suites, such as WORD, and EXcel, produce the same results. Iâm downloading it as we speak.
This works! Helped me a lot thank you.
Been using this for years and it is incredible tbh, I do not really advanced features so this solid and less cluttered. Unless you are someone who deals with excel on a regular basis for work, this is great and gets the job done.
Can't wait to try this. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this. I tried it and voila, it works just as you said. Cool! Hope the background music feature for power point gets added soon though. And more font choices! I guess you get what you don't pay for. I really am very pleased to get any level of Microsoft product for free (and legit free). Its just that I'm a power user so frustration sets in pretty fast over lack of certain features.
Haven't tried the others yet. Will be doing that soon. Thanks again!
Clickbait, he updated the title to 2020 as well when he clearly uploaded in 2019
Hi Kevin, hope this is the right platform to ask this question here; where you showed the co-op function on your "co-authored" word file, I didn't clearly understand how two accounts were using the same file.... were they using a word file that had been saved to a shared cloud? Hope this isn't too silly a question..... thanks for the vids all the same, they're all very helpful :)

Outstanding information Kevin. I seem to be having one problem though. In the Office app, now 365 app, when I open an existing word document that I just made up about a month ago, the app opens it as a WordPad document or if I try to open an excel document (xlsx) it opens up a window that shows all the options for other programs that I can try to open it with. I guess I don't understand why the 365 app would be asking that. Can you help with this?
Hi Kevin, your works are very interesting and helpfull , thank you for sharing and keep it.
you just save my life thanks Kevin. less confusion now.
This is pretty cool, thank you. I have a question: can I use VBA on this version? Also, can I let other people open and edit directly on it (the same way as google sheet)?
No VBA. You can let other people open/edit directly, like with Google Docs... I demo this at the end of this video if you're interested in seeing it in action :)
Kevin, thanks for ALL of your awesome training videos and the ones with tips and tricks. The videos that explain how to get Office for free are not up to date (today is 07.06.2023) are there any current updates that you can think of? Again, thanks for everything!
Hi Kevin, last week both word and excel were disabled. Should I unpack this office and follow the procedure you show in your video? Thanks.
Make sure you are incognito while doing this, so the fbi cant find you
you should have replaced "get" with "use", get implies downloading and installing, which is what we want, not to just use it online
@Cat Josselyn your point is?
@Cat Josselyn again your point is? I know he gets more views by using the wrong word, its rather clear, its also click bait and that you can not deny
