I appreciate you
I think you’re having the exact same issues we are with our ‘86 excella! We’re following your floor patch replacement video, too.
Hello! I've talked to a lot of people with similar year Airstreams as you and me and hear the same thing. Keeping the water out and fixing the damage left behind seem to be the main issues. I'm glad you got something out of the floor patch video!! I am so happy we got that project finished, it was a huge headache
Mind if I ask what the parbond aluminum was used on? I may have missed it in the video.
Sure! I use parbond on the sides of the Airstream where 2 pieces of aluminum meet. It matches the color and blends better. I don’t know that I used parbond in this video, I think I just talked about it in the beginning, so you did not miss it :)
Oh my gosh is what came out of my mouth when I saw the brush you used to wash the Airstrwam :-0). Looks Scratchy. Use the softest bristle ever and follow the grain. Plastic scrapers of any sorts, not steel,, 🙌🏻😋
For sure! The brush was fine, but def on the plastic scrappers. Fortunately I was covering up the part I was scraping with caulk so it didn’t matter too much.
@@GoranandJen Filiform can form once aluminum is scrapped off its coating or screwed into and it can grow like a vine in any direction, past the caulking.
@@projet2907 true. Our Airstream is 34 years old so we’re not as concerned with that as we would be if it were newer
Do you use black caulk or white caulk ?
I used a grey caulk
So sad. AS looks good but is absolutely garbage. I hope someday they make a good product.
Well, we will have to agree to disagree.
