In my mind, this is the Desperate Housewives & Sex and the City prequel-crossover show...
I remember the Kimberly in front of the mirror, pull back of the wig reveal. And I remember thinking “oh it’s a brain thing, that explains a lot”
I thought she was some sort of alien.
I used to watch and record this show in middle school and I can't believe that Kim had M.P.D and she had 🧠 surgery.
She was so crazy on this show but the show didn't explain her background much. They made it seem like she was born with MDP. She was CRAZY...bombed the building and stole a baby. I love watching it on Amazon Prime now. I feel like I watched this without a real awareness of what was going on; prostitution, Allison's dad hurting her as a child, mpd, doctors changing medical records 🙃
I remember that episode too 😂 vividly

I was a tween back then and I remember thinking "Wow! Kimberly sure knew how to leave a lasting impression!"
The chicken salad and Kristen Davis plate smashing was top tier for me. Also the wig reveal was iconic!

She was so fabulous in Melrose place. She had some great lines and the way she delivered them. She was really really scary.
Loved Marcia Cross as the deranged Kimberly (she TRULY had the most 'deranged' moments from her run on MP) but don't forget that Heather Locklear/Amanda got her start on soaps as the trashy Sammy Jo for YEARS on Dynasty in the 80's (plus Jack Wagner/Peter), he was on General Hospital, Santa Barbara, and Bold and the Beautiful.
She was also in The Edge of Night

Aaron Spelling was a big fan of William Bell, his soaps The Young & Restless and The Bold & Beautiful. I think you might say Melrose Place was what you'd expect if you took a daytime soap and put it into a primetime format. Lots of suds and a bigger budget.

Melrose Place was so outrageous! Kimberly blowing up the apartment complex was my favorite. I also loved when Jane and Sidney got into a fight over their grandmother’s dress and they fell in the pool, and when Peter tried to kill Amanda, only to have her marry him later.
You forgot Kimberly tying up and threatening to kill Sydney before blowing up the building and then becoming her psycologist later.

Amaryl, if you've never seen any, I think 90s Mexican telenovelas are the entertainment for you. It's pure ridiculous, campy drama with the most beautiful houses (not too many kitchen tho, because it's often either shacks with no kitchens or mansions with servants so, you know).
My favorite is La Usurpadora (I mean, even the title is dramatic). Good evil, bad twin. I'm Brazilian and it is an absolute classic over here.

I really loved that show, more than BH90210. How it moved from a YA series to a REAL soap opera each season was amazing, the absurd storylines, who dated who... Yeah, I miss those guys!😂

To this day, one of my all-time favorite MP moments is the one where Kimberly singlehandedly turned the tables on that psycho Vic (who had kidnapped her)...and then singlehandedly brought Vic to the police station. And, finally, Kimberly told the desk captain that she had to go home, take a shower and freshen up...and THEN she would return to the police station to press charges against Vic. LOL!!!!! CLASSIC MELROSE PLACE!!!!! Those were fun times.

Oh come onnnn, you left out one of the campiest lines in the show! After the explosion, poor Alison sits in her hospital bed with bandages over her eyes, and after a very technical prognosis about the state of her vision, she asks, "is that doctor talk for blind??"

So here's the thing. I never watched Melrose place growing up. Somehow some way in my mind Melrose place occupied the same space as Rosanne and in fact I may have internally confused the two for years.
I cannot describe to you how hard I broke down laughing at this compilation in the Craft. I had tears streaming down my face by the time I got to that last explosion. What was Melrose place even 😂😂
It was a crazy primetime soap opera, spun off of Beverly hills 90210. It was addictive
@@MartinSmith156 it gave me that same feeling I'm sure I gave others when I just send clip compilations of the batshit insane batman soap opera that was Gotham. Just a show where the campiest dumbest things in the world happen but the actors are doing their damnedest to play it straight and every few minutes you're reminded "oh yeah this is supposed to somehow be about batman 😂"
@@strayiggytv the best thing about Melrose Place was it took pride in its own sleaziness, it was PURPOSELY camp, the scene when Sydney is beaten up by angry, aging manly looking hookers, they even call her an "uppity slut" on Hollywood BLVD is GREAT trash tv done right
Believe it or not, it was broadcast 5 days a week at 5PM in France!!!! When it’s supposed to be for adults only!!! So we would be watching with my sister and muting everything when my mother was around 😂😂😂 good times!!

Although I loved the tv-show I can't understand how the hell Brooke (don't remember actress name) got role after Melrose Place from Sex in The City. She can't act. Jane Mancini's actress I haven't seen anywhere but her acting was also so bad that is easy to say Michael and Sydney are my favorite characters from the show. Kimberly close 3rd.

Such a beautiful show, wish they had been brave enough to keep Rhonda and give her stories AND actually make Matt gay along with a sex drive. Otherwise, 10/10 television.
