and I'm willing to be you will NOT guess the number one!
If you wish to buy me a coffee, that would be appreciated:

Ranking Beethoven and Tchaikovsky number 9 literally caused me physical pain, I know it's personal and very subjective but still 😭😭😭
Yeah, me too.
Me too.
They'd probably be equal first for me! Some of the most beautiful music ever written
Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto is some of the most irritating music I have ever heard.
@@Ziad3195 Then you're tone deaf.
Great video! Greatest synphonies next?
The Bach violin concertos was the very first Bach CD i bought at a pawn shop when I was 14 years old. LIFE CHANGING. (my dad bought me... Lol)
My 3:
1. Walton
2. Prokofiev 1
3. Khatchaturian
Mendelssohn Vc brought me into the classical music world
As a humble music lover my top 3 are:
1. Sibelius.
2. Khachaturian.
3. Mendelssohn.
Please tell me I'm not the only one here who loves the Khachaturian.
I think you are
Khachaturian is an epic concerto from start to finish. What I've noticed is that it is not played that often (at least among violinists)
Shostakovich 1 is great too
My fav Violin concerto of all time, probably my fav from shosty, easily on top 10 pieces of all music
It is always delicate to make a choice, let alone expressing a difference of opinion with someone else's choice. I feel it however urgent to say that the ranking of Stravinsky, Bruch, and Sibelius do astonish me very much. Not every body would agree with you on that point, and this is an euphemistic statement, to put it gently.
Great list! Sibelius will always be my #1 though
Tchaikovsky's violin concerto is my #1. The 3rd movement is absolutely epic and massively virtuosic.....better than the 1st movement IMHO.
I am not a violinist, but my favourite concerto was surprisingly not featured, which is Barber's violin concerto, it's very romantic, very American sounding, and a very hard last movement, or at least that what it sounds like, I also think that the Mozart violin concerti are quite good as well, same with Shostakovich's 1st and Prokofiev's 2nd. And Schumann's violin concerto is unfairly neglected and same with Martinu's 2nd
Vieuxtemps 4 and 5? Wieniawkski 1 and 2? eitherway they're great choices.
I appreciate the weinawski 1.... it's one of my faves post Mendelssohn
Great video
Well done
Bravo
WHERE IS SHOATSKOVICH!!!
For me its missing Shostakovich and Schumann. But I agree with the Bach up top ;)
Personally I could not think of a top ten nor of a top five nor of a top three without Berg's!
It's almost as if he ranked them in reverse order. No shot in the world that those that come after are greatest than Tchaikovsky and Brahms.
But I agree if he made the classic list: Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Bruch, Sibelius, etc. It would be quite a boring video
Only thing that I agree in this video is that it shows how underestimated Sibelius is, people generally leave it out of the "Four Great violin concertos" but it's actually better than Bruch, Mendelssohn and Beethoven
Sibelius❤
Now you'll have to do flute concertos (don't leave the "Concierto Pastoral" out)
Yes! 2nd movement of Bach is a perfect ten!
Good choices
At least I have the same for number 1...
Prok 1 is my number 1 probably, but we need justice for Sibelius second movement
Bartók simply can‘t not be in this list!
Brahms. Every other one comes after.
I find it hard to believe you included nothing by Paganini.
His 1st Violin Concerto is the most beautiful and memorable music I have yet heard come from a violin.
Paganani's stuff is just fireworks. It's not too musical.
interesting
Karlowicz?
I don't really like violin concerti much, especially not romantic period ones. My few favourite ones are by Mozart.
It's a shame that Respighi's Concerto Gregoriano is so underrated. There aren't even many recordings.
Jesus, what happened to that violinist's face on 1:24
oh, this may be it, poor guy, doesn't look too different than many of those voluntary aesthetic surgeries though.
"In 1999, Hadelich was severely burned in a fire on his family's farm, causing extensive damage to his upper body and right hand. His concerts were all canceled, he had many reconstructive surgeries, and Hadelich's life suddenly changed."
This list is a pile of shit. The Beethoven is unquestionably the greatest, the Tchaikovsky and Brahms 2nd and 3rd, then Mendelssohn, Sibelius, etc.
I was disappointed when Mendelssohn wasn’t No 1 until you got to No 1 and then I realised you were right.
Weinawski violin concerto no.1?😢
Beethoven #1
😭
Hell yeah more violins
Alban Berg! Far better than Stravinsky and should be in top 5.
