Hi I am an artist from England. Trying out patinas paint. I must of watched your video about five times. You give me lots of inspiration. Really good video. Thank you🇬🇧💜
Thanks, some of the stuff you made is beautiful, to me this looks like the surface of Mars and the surface of Pluto, these are such primal colour ways! I'm going to do this to my car.
I love this video! Not only for the fun and beautiful things you’ve created but you’re personality is absolutely just wonderful! 💕 Thank you for making this!
I feel like I hit the mother load finding this video! Thank you for showing us how you did this. What product or technique would you advise if you wanted a high gloss to cover these? Thank you again.
Hi Suzanne, when you say "reactive metal paint" does the paint itself dry as though it is metal? I have a project I am debating on doing a copper leaf, but it is a very large project (close to 100sq ft) and a copper paint product like this would save me A LOT of time and effort. All that being said, the copper leaf is very bright / vibrant / metallic / reflective looking prior to the patina application and really want that bright metallic effect in portions of my project. If the paint can't give that effect, I may have to just tough it out and do the copper leaf. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Do you still sell these? Also are you the creator of these paints? I’m trying to figure out how to buy them and if like to know if they can be mixed with paint colors.
The setting for 'Far Cry 4' is the Himalayas, I have been looking for the 'colours' used in the houses and such since I started playing it, It's so wonderful to see a native Indian ask a middle aged white woman from the US if she can ship "colours" that were lifted from India by the Victorians. Cities have their own cultures, these 'colours' are rural. People are so awesome!
srvblues100 Thats why Im here. I have no doubt it would work. May have to shoot a UV/weather protection over it. Would look kick ass on a rat bike or a rat rod.
fishreelez This is why I'm here. Any ideas on getting it to look like it is authentic? Maybe layer your paint job and these until you get a desired look?
what Im thinking is a mix rusting with muriatic acid and then brushing highlights/runs on edges with the copper paint and then give it that nice greenish/blue patina...Yes, layers, and shading, hightlights or 'Values' of depth and texture. I think the big trick would be to take the time to get the first rusting to look like leather. A buddy did his truck in rust to the point it looks like leather, and then pin striped it with designs in yellow/orange. Its amazing. But on a bike, that copper patina, almost steampunk, would look boss.
+srvblues100 a few years ago i used "Modern Masters" metal effect paint on my Beetle to give it a rat-rod look. Turned out nice I think see their site (search "modernmasters rat rod" and look at google images - car has horns on front of roof rack). The car was cleaned adn lightly sanded, sealed and then metal/iron paint applied with a roller. Once the activator was applied it started to rust and then once happy and dry a dealing coat was applied. Car still looks great and I dont think i have ever washed it since! :-) Hope this helps... Chris
