I’m currently reading the maidens too. So far it’s fine. Though I think I’m in a bit of a slump after reading the broken earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin. Now those are fantastic books. Really raised the bar. Highly recommend. This is a beautiful video!!!

tbh i liked the maidens mainly because i live in cambridge and it was fun reading the story at the places he mentions; however, it’s definitely not great as far as mysteries go. The Silent Patient was so good that I think he might’ve set the bar a bit too high lol
Watching you walk through those leaves made my heart ache. I want it to feel like fall where I live so badly, but summer is hanging on. Not an orange or yellow leaf in sight

Would love to see a poc dark academia centered vlog! I find that poc dark academia always adds such a powerful dynamic bc even into today there’s this persistent view that poc don’t belong in academia, but then on the other hand there’s some really cool dark academia that just place poc in the story force you to normalize their appearance. Legendborn and Ace of Spades are YA but really good YA, Ace of Spades is a bit shaky but still a great read. For adult Catherine House is one of my all time faves for dark academia, Real Life is another great one, Notes of a Crocodile as well!
I’ll be reading some poc dark academia next week and through October hopefully! I don’t know when I’ll next be able to make a video like this one as it took 3 weeks to do from beginning to end, and a second would be longer of trying to plan other shots that weren’t shown here - but they’ll be in my content regardless!

I have wanted to see images from edinbught for so long and now I finally "know" someone who lives there and who likes to go out and take photos and films. G lives in edinburgh as well, but she never films outside. Mostly the same with Lianne as well - except for that "welcome to edinburgh" meet up she did with you and the other girl whose name I forget. Since you dont like the Maidens, and rated it just 1 star, then I probably wont bother reading it, although I was looking forward to it. Sad really.
