Vince Vaughn is a great addition to the show. He fits in like he’s been there since day 1.
I love Vince but I think in this case it has more to do with Curb being a show that anyone remotely decent can do and come off likable. Larry's not a great actor. Jeff isn't a great actor. But they fit perfectly.

Love this too much as a former paramedic. People should give privacy in medical emergency. Larry is the only person doing the right thing. If you don't have something to give, stay the hell out of the way!

It's pretty amazing that they can take a show where every character is filthy rich and make them somehow relatable.

I used to be a waiter at this fancy restaurant in Anchorage. One night this family of six came in with a very elderly woman with a walker. And it was her birthday so they asked me what I would recommend and I recommended them to start with the oyster platter. She was so happy she said she hadn't had a oysters for 40 years or something. So I bring the fire to the table and I go back into the kitchen and I hear the commotion and I come out see it on the floor. Convulsing. Anyway long story short turns out she's allergic to oysters now and she died right there. Apparently, you can become allergic to things later in life that you weren't earlier. I killed her on her birthday.

was once at a pool party and this older gentleman had a heart attack and died on the side of the house. After waiting around for about an hour for EMS to come and get the body, I told my wife I was going to go inside get some more spare ribs (they were incredible). She asked me to please not eat them out on the back patio in front of the dead man's daughter. I was appalled that she would even suggest it. Even insulted a little that she thought someone would be that bereft of tact........ and then I see this clip.. Damn it, Larry David

To be fair, the waiting time for a non-fatal heart attack had passed. Does EVERYBODY have to stand there watching the event? It’s not like God increases the chance of survival because Larry David is hungrily staring!
Isn't this the premise of most "incidents" on the show, though? Larry does something that isn't really a big deal but it gets blown out of proportion by the crazy, self absorbed people around him so one could actually side with him. That is until after some escalation he reacts in a way that is so tone deaf and absurd that suddenly he is the "bad guy" for good reason. At least that's how many of the show's plots played out for me.
How would you know if it's non fatal, he could have died 30 secondes after Larry started eating

I love how self-absorbed the real Larry is to write this in to the plot. The guy completely stops what he is doing to help his father just because Larry enacts a social faux pas and sits down, then continues to stare in bemusement . How absurd !
Also, that's the point of many plots in the show. It's rarely that Larry does something really bad, hardly deserving of the overreactions of the people around him. It's just when he reacts, rectifies or retaliates that he goes way too far.

So I flying back to Dublin (east coast of ireland) from Sao Paulo and a guy got a heart attack on the plane, he was seen to just before we had to make an emergency landing at Shannon (West coast). He was going to be ok. I lived in the next town from Shannon. I asked the air hostess can I get off here, i live just down the road. everybody in the plane turned around and gave me dirty looks. We had to continue to Dublin and so did the coach ride on my way home, I can never forget 1 particular womans face of scorn
