The fact that there are two separate Crawdad festivals geographically close together at the same time is due mainly to personalities and bruised egos of the people in charge of it. It is the same reason the Isleton Crawdad Festival was discontinued for over a decade until last year. It is a shame people can't get along.

Isleton was always the best. Cal expo..you pay to park..pay to enter..pay to walk..pay to breath...pay pay pay. It's not fun
At the Isleton Crawdad Festival this year, you also had to pay to park and pay to enter. But it was a great festival.
Sign misspelled potatoes. Ridiculous.

Except there ain't no crawdads in Sacramento.
There are crawdads in Sacramento. The American and Sacramento Rivers flow through town, and both have plenty of crawdads!
Cal Expo? Sorry, isleton is still the king of craw. Always will be.
You're just convenient, Cal 😊
